The past few years we flew from Halifax, and when our points dried up, we flew from Portland,ME (this summer). Next year we are considering driving down just for something different.:goodvibes

We have driven a few times, but not in the past 6 years and my memory is fading me.... ;) Where do you stay on your first and second nights? We usually stay in Boston our first night and beyond that, I am drawing a blank.:confused3 I am curious what others do.

Any tips, or recommendations would be great. :wizard:

We drove down two years ago but we stopped several times along the way and only drove until 6 or so each evening. Also, we started in Cape Breton so it is a few extra hours from Halifax. We stayed in Bangor, ME; New Haven, CT; Potomic Mills, VA; and Savannah, GA. We stopped for shopping and siteseeing for a few hours here and there as well. On the way back, we stopped in Lumberton, NC; East Brunswick, NJ; and Woodstock, NB. If you want to leave early and drive later, you can certainly make it in three days. We didn't like night driving so we stopped early. It's a lot of driving but we had a lot of fun. I really liked the stops we made because we had never done a long road trip before and our kids were young adults, not children. I wish I had the time to drive again! Have a blast!!:)
