Second, no, I don't think you're crazy. Assuming she'll be on a fairly normal eating schedule, you'll have no problems. Most babies sleep very well in a moving car. In fact, many parents take their cranky babies on car rides to calm them down.
aside from stopping for feedings (if you're nursing), I'd say now is going to be easier than it will be ever again! Itty bittys like that could very well just sleep the time away on such a long trip whereas the older they get, the more alert they will be and want to just get out of that seat! Do it now!

My ds hated the car when he was a baby but we traveled with my two older children (twins) and took trips down to florida all the time. If you have enough time to make frequent stops and won't be rushed it sounds doable. Just be careful because she is young and Sept is extremely hot and humid. Enjoy.
