Hi we plan to do the drive at the end of April, has anyone done this and stopped overnight? if so can you recommend a nice hotel that preferably does a nice breakfast along the way, thanks

I don't know of any personally, but Mickey'sToontown drives from Monroe, La. and they always stop at the Jameson Inn in Crestview Fla. So that's where I've made our reservations for September. (I wonder if these people know how much business they get from here?)

thank you so much...I do know of mickeystoontown....she goes to the CBR the same time each year as we do....I will def check out that hotel...thank you!

I'm interested in recommendations, too.

We're driving in Oct from the Houston area :)

Have a great trip next month, and if you have the time please post where you stayed.

just checked out the Jameson Inn online and it looks lovely, $85 a night with hot cooked breakfast included..thats a def possibility..its 9 hrs even from Houston to Crestview...thing I did notice was its very well known because its haunted!!!!!!!!!!! If we do stay there I will be sure and not mention that to my 9yr old!! hahah...the only hitchhiking ghosts Im interested in at in the Haunted mansion. I will def let you know what hotel we end up staying in. Last year we drove straight to Panama city beach but this will be our first to Orlando and we def need a stop over.

We have done that drive a couple of times, and will again this summer. We have stayed at the Homewood Suites in Pensacola, FL. Great place to stay. This time we are going to stay at the Homewood Suites in Daphne, AL since we could not get into the one in Pensacola.

We tend to stay with them since it's hard to find many hotels that will allow 5 to a room. Besides, I'm a Hilton Honor member, and I'm always looking to add points.

We drive from southwest Louisiana and we normally stop in Tallahassee at the Staybridge Suites on Summit Lake Drive. Super nice hotel and hot breakfast. It is about a 9 hour drive for us. We have also stayed at the Drury in Mobile, AL.

We stayed at the Staybridge in Tallahassee too last March. It was a good choice. Eat before you arrive though, there are not many restaurants around on the east side of Tallahassee.

Just make sure not to hit DeFuniak Springs, FL. It seems like we ALWAYS hit there when we are dog tired and there is only 1 hotel and it's a bad one!

How was the Drury?

Drury was nice also. Its right off the interstate and Outback was a few blocks away. Also had a nice hot breakfast.

We have had great service at the Holiday Inn Express in Chiply, Fl. We live just north of Houston. They have a great breakfast in the mornings.

There are fast food places around including a buffet KFC. There is a Wal Mart there too if you need something.

We enjoyed the Holiday Inn Express in Daphne. It was surprisingly nice a few years ago.

There must be something about Daphne. :)

We've stayed at the Country Inn in Crestview a couple of times and love it. Really, it comes down to the time of day you're leaving Houston. We try to leave at 5 a.m. and on our upcoming trip have booked the Country Inn in East Tallahassee. Both locations are under $100 w/AAA. Crestview was in the $70 range I believe. Crestview is a great stop over if you are leaving later in the day. There's a Wal-Mart and plenty of dining choices. I just want to have a shorter drive the next morning this trip!
