driving from chgo 65 or 57?

Thought I would reply as we just completed our drive last night from 57 to 24 to 75. What an enjoyable drive! I don't think we ever experienced a drive that felt so quick.

The efficiency we felt could be due to the kids no longer being kids.

We left the house at 4:30AM and by 4 PM we were driving through Atlanta. At that point, we all discussed if we should try to drive straight through with an estimated arrival time to into Orlando of 11PM or if we should plan to stop in South GA or Norther FL. It was unanimous to drive through. That would give us a whole unplanned day in Orlando.

We arrived at The Fairfield Inn at Marriott Villiage in Orlando at 11:25PM.

Honestly, the last hour to hour and a half was rough. We were feeling spent--but, by this time we had made a Marriott reservation for the evening so we pushed on.

Mapquest also allows you to use your mouse to drag the route to the roads you want, or to put in "stops" that will push your routing to the one you want.

The "57 or 65 from Chicago" question has been asked hundreds of times in the past 9-10 years I've been on the DIS and the overwhelming majority say to take 57. Search the boards for those threads if you want to read more comments. :goodvibes

Just got back Sunday from our vacation to WDW.
On the way down we took 65. We experienced horrible rain during our drive through IN and trying to navigate the rain AND all the trucks was a nerve racking experience.
We decided to take 57 on the ay back. Much easier drive. Boring and long, but no trucks to deal with!
