? driving directions from New England

I'm not driving to DW but from Hartford to DC (and saving that DC SWA ticket for future WDW trip!). For those that have driven from New England to WDW, how do you handle New York. All driving directions have us using the GW bridge but I have been told it's easier to use Merritt Parkway and Tappan Zee bridge but I can't find those directions on Mapquest, etc.

Any help would be appreciated!

PS Driving on Wednesday, leaving Hartford around 7-7:30 a.m. so should be in NY area around 9-9:30 if this makes any difference. Returning on Saturday.

Margaret,
Sometimes you have to fake Mapquest out. Put in an address for Mawah NJ and then from there your address in Lake Buena Vista. Gives great instructions from there.

Oh, yes, if you are a member of AAA they will plot a route for you at no charge, and they can do it fast if you tell them it is a rush job.

Hi Margaret,

It's pretty easy. Just go Rt 84 west to Rt 87 (NY State Thruway) South. Stay on 87 until the Garden State PKWY. Take that south to the Jersey TPK and on to I95

AAA always take you tapenzee way. Depending on what time you "HIT" NYC george washington can be a nightmare. We've gone both routes and not sure if any is that much faster

After our last trip just a few weeks ago, we will never do GW Bridge again. Upper level was closed and it was bumper to bumper for a long time. And this was 12:00 midnight!! I agree with Kristielee, take 84 to 87
