... ok, surprising my husband with a trip the first week of Aug and got flights via Allegiant into Sanford. We'll have carryon's only and are renting a car...

So, getting do SSR - what is the best route. If our flight lands about 8:30 pm, is it reasonable to think we should be there by 9:30 - 10:00?

Going back to the airport on Friday. Our flight leaves at 8:10 am -- I know this means we will need to leave SSR EARLY on Friday. Not knowing rush hour, etc, what route is best and what time should be leave so as to not miss our flight. 5:30 am??? earlier? later? We will have the rental car to return as well....

Also, is there a good place to stop and get a couple bottles of wine and a few other odds and ends like sunscreen, etc that we won't be able to have in the carryon? Or fast food to grab a bite to eat on the way to SSR (I'm assuming no place will really be open for us to get food once we check in...)

Inbound to Orlando/Disney, I would almost guarantee that you will be there by 10:00. Orlando-Sanford Int'l is a small, easy to navigate airport. You can take I-4 westbound to Disney, or I-4 southbound to Disney. At that time of night, neither should have traffic.

Leaving Friday, you should be more than fine leaving by 5:30. I dont usually hit the roads that early during the week, but I would be willing to bet that the 417 would be clear, and most likely I-4 too.

Um, Matt? Isn't I-4 the same as I-4?

To the OP: I know I-4 westbound is a correct direction; I'm not sure what highway is intended with the southbound instructions.

I'm sorry. The second I-4 reference (southbound) should be 417 southbound. It is a toll road though. My mistake.
