Drive or take Disney shuttle to parks?

to drive my car. We took the bus last time and it was good, but when leaving the parks at night there was always a big line and some rather rude people because I had to carry the stroller on the bus along with my camera bag.

The only time I really liked the bus was the night of MNNSHP. The bus was very quick and the driver was really helpful.

i do so much driving all week long when it comes to a vacation i do not want to see a set of car keys at all. i enjoy the bus rides a quite a bit. i enjoy looking at the surrounding, this past july i couldnt help notice just how much tree damage was still visable from the previous summer, so letting someone else drive adds to my vacation enjoyment. if i had to drive i wolud have missed this. yes waiting for the bus does stink but for me it is a small price to pay. i have met quite a few nice people on the bus after a long day at the world

We drive to Disney but then once we get to WL, we have them park our vehicle and we don't use it until it's time to leave. We think that part of the magic is riding the boat/bus to everywhere in WDW!

We always use Disney transportation. We have taken our car twice, and have had it sat in the hotel parking lot the entire week. We don't take much with us, so we are pretty portable. I can understand if you want to take coolers, or strollers (which look a real trial to keep folding up to get on the bus) We've had a few times when the bus hasn't come along as quick as we would like, but it's been pretty good most of the time. The trip from AKL or Coronado Springs to MK was a fair distance, but it's the same distance in a car and you don't have to get the monorail from the parking lot. I actually am another one that actually likes taking the bus and watching the world go by.

We use the shuttles and monorails exclusively - don't even rent a car. The only drawback was when trying to go from one of the parks (Epcot, I think) directly to Downtown Disney. No way to do that directly by shuttle or monorail, and I wasted a lot of time going by monorail to the Contemporary and waiting for a bus to DTD. Took well over an hour, and I got very frustrated. Other than that, the shuttles and monorail work great!!

Yep that pesky bus to DTD is always the one I have problems with, but not because of having to change, but just because I always seem to have to wait forever for it.

Definitely agree that the car is much faster in most cases. Of our 5 trips, we've either rented a car or had our own. Nothing I hate more than being squeezed in like sardines after a long, hot day. We'll be using DME this upcoming December for our Christmas trip and won't be renting a car...and I am not looking forward to the rides back and forth on the bus. Guess it's just a small price to pay to get to the parks and have just a great time while I'm there.

We've never used the Disney busses...we always drive to Fla. for 8 or 9 days & use our van for transportation. Works perfectly for us!!!

Drive! You don't have to wait in any lines for the bus. You are guaranteed a seat and air conditioning. You don't have to worry about 50 or 60 other people trying to sit on top of you or giving you a dirty look because you are sitting and they have to stand. Plus, staying on property you get to park for free. How can you argue with that?

My vote = drive your own car while at the resort.

In my opinion, nothing saves you more time while on your WDW vacation. I've taken WDW transport for years but now I can never go back. I always rent a car while at the world. Your vacation time is valuable. Don't waste it waiting in more lines and on someone's else's watch. If you can fit a rental into your trip budget, go for it. You won't be sorry.

DRIVE!!! Disney Transportation is lacking in every way.
