Yes, anyone that drinks during pregnancy is thinking of themselves, which in my book, is selfish. Are they thinking "gee, this drink will do wonders for the baby"? No, i don't think so. This sounds to me like an "if the show fits....." If you look back in one of my earlier posts, the person i was quoting was Jennifer Willford, assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and the study's first author, obviously someone a little more knowledgeable on this subject than any of us.
If you call being passionate about a subject "being on a soapbox", yes, i'll stand on that soapbox, especially if it concerns something/someone that can't speak for themselves, i.e., animals, children. Actually, i've only stated the facts on the subject and stated I could/would not have served that person. Others could do that, i could not. And i would not work for an establishment that forced me to.
So has anyone found the link showing drinking during pregnancy, early or late, small amounts or large, is good for the fetus?
