Drinking around the World Showcase?

Here's a magarita from Mexico:

I remember going with a BF back in 96. We went during the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. I remember getting to England and just dying. I sat down on the ground and couldn't move.

Those were the days. :drinking1

We always drink around the world........if you like beer there are many, many choices. We always start in Mexico with a Dos Equis Amber Beer. Some of our other favorites include Kirin in Japan, Casa in Morocco, octoberfest in Germany, Moosehead in Canada.....We actually have been able to find 99% of them here back home. The only one we can't seem to get our hands on is Casa. If anyone knows where we might be able to find it I'd appreciate it. We have little parties every w/e with all our favorites from the World Showcase.

Not sure about specialty drinks - I remember getting some insane shot in Germany, but cannot remember the name/QUOTE]

Jagermeister?

My other guess would be Goldschlager. I've seen people taking shots of it in Germany. Jager is licorish (ps?) flavor, and Goldschlager is cinnomin (sp?). I haven't done Jager before, but Goldschlager is clear with gold flakes in it. Goldschlager is also higher in alcohol.

PS: I heard there is a drink in Morocco that's really good. I don't know if its a Tangierine cocktail or Margarita, but it came in a huge glass.

What is the Kir Royal?

I think it's a shot of Kir liquor into Champagne. All of the places mentioned will have Cast Members that are more than willing to share their knowledge of their country's spirits. Have your husband or whoever, tell the Cast Member what they like and what they don't like. They will be provided with a good drink.

And yeah, you can't drink around the world or around Disney World. Not unless you have personal bodyguards to pick you up after you pass out and a gurney waiting to take you back to your room (or to the hospital) and you will be inoperative for the next two days.

With respect to the shot I had in Germany, I too would love to know what it was called. It wasn't Yaeger or Schlager, although one or both were definitely in it, along with another liquor and I believe a touch of some mixer. It was definitely something new to me (and I was a bartender). If I recall correctly, it was the name of a weapon or something - like AK47? It was a young bartender at the little outside bar they have there. I suppose it will remain a mystery.

When I did this back in August last year, I made it all the way around with the exception of skipping over America cause I can drink that crap all the time. I had 2 drinks at AK before we went to Epcot so I compensated for it.

This is what I had:
Mexico- Fiesta Margarita
Norway- Carlsberg Beer (awful)
China- Tsing Tao Beer (Good)
Germany- Becks Dark Lager
Italy- Peroni Beer
Japan- Sake
Morocco- Casa Beer, When I went back in December I got a Strawberry Daquri and was unimpressed with the amount of liqour that was poured into it so I kindly asked for more and my wish was granted.:thumbsup2 Hows that for "Year of a Million Dream's" ?
France- Grey Goose Citron Slushee :drinking1
United Kingdom- Had a Long Island Iced Tea at Rose & Crown when I was there in August to Drink Around the World but in December I got a 1/2 Yard of Stella Artois beer.
Canada- I had Mooshead Beer

After all that, went on Test Track & Mission Space and Test Track is the best ride when your drunk. The ride back to the resort on the bus was interesting.... Sorry if anyone had to put up with us on that bus.

I've seen it at the ABC Liqour store along with all the others that they had at Epcot.

May I make a drink suggestion if you are into the shots they serve in Germany? Try a shot called Aphelkorn!!! It is like apple juice for grown ups!! it is severed chilled and goes down very smoothly. My DBF and I discovered it on our first trip to the World and continue to drink it on all of our trips!! YUM!!!!!!:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Classic - nice going - very imressive, particularly the half yard towards the end. Will basically be doing the same in a month. Can't wait - always a trip highlight.

Wow, I've never had that but it sounds sooo good! Does it taste like a Lemon Drop, but frozen? I'm definitely going to have to try it!!

Never having had it (but oh I will in May..no doubts about it), I'm imagining it tastes like frozen lemonade but booozy.

Call me a WDW heathen, but I think I would almost rather have one of those every day than a Dole Whip :p

I also recommend the beer flights at Rose & Crown
Wine tasting in France (3-4 kinds, I forget) - yummy
Had a fabulous blueberry martini (antioxidants are good) at the lounge at the Boardwalk Inn
Marrakesh Express -- very mai tai like (and delish)
Great wine list at Jiko
