Dri Sleeper - For anyone who has an older child struggling with bedwetting

We have the Malem alarm - we got it at the bedwetting store. It was $84.95 shipped, because shipping was like $5 but I had a $5 off coupon code. This is the one we are using. http://www.bedwettingstore.com/Bedwetting_Alarms/malem_bedwetting_alarm.htm?color=red

It is working wonders for my son who will be 7 next month. He is a deep sleeper too, and says he doesn't always remember getting up with it, but he does it! He is on day 7 of consecutive dry nights... yay! I am so happy for him! Like lots of previous posts have said, I have never made a big deal about it, but he is getting to the age where sleepovers start, etc, and he wanted to start being dry. Plus, he's tall for age and the Underjams/Goodnites leak on him every night. They were better than nothing, but we still were having wet pjs and sheets. Poor kid. Glad to know that this is working for other people too! I'm SO HAPPY! :thumbsup2

We used an alarm for night bed-wetting with our DS4, and it worked great! We let him sleep on an air mattress in our room for the couple of weeks he wore it to make him feel better about sleeping with it on. The one we bought (don't remember the name) was only $30 on Amazon, plus it had the best reviews of similar items on Amazon. Shop around before you spend $80 on one-yikes!

Here's the one we used. It's gone up in price-$50 now. The main difference I see between it and the other one people are talking about is that this one has a wire that connects from the place where it's hooked on to the underwear to the alarm, which hook onto the shirt. Looks like the more expensive one connects directly to the underwear. If your child moves a lot in their sleep, I might actually recommend the more expensive one.

Worth every penny. :goodvibes

And I quoted the wrong post. LOL I meant to quote your second one. LOL sorry!

Congrats on the alarm OP!!

I have another alternative that some of you may want to use. Our ped. recommended it to us and IT WORKED!!!! Its a book titled "Dry All Night" by Allison Mack. It is a visual learning technique that you and your child read together to help cue their brain into waking upon feeling the urge to go to the bathroom. I know its sounds hooky, huh? But I couldn't believe it really worked for DD!!! She was getting very frustrated at age 8 and still wetting. She wanted to do sleepovers with girlfriends but was too afraid b/c of the problem. I felt soooo bad for her. She was also a super deep sleeper, could not move her for anything. Anyway she is now 10 and will be 11 in Aug and has not had once accident in 2 plus years!!!!! She is such a happy girl doing sleepovers etc. The book really worked. DD worked with the book to really help her stop wetting.

You can find the book on Amazon.com. Its an older print book and I don't think its available in books stores at all anymore as its out of print, but the technique is not out of date!!

Good luck to all of you and your children, I know how frustrating it can be for both parent and child. :grouphug:
