Dressing Kids for Disney...I'm obsessed! pics plz!

I love all the custom stuff I've seen on this thread! However, my ds1 would probably look RIDICULOUS in it...I don't know how to explain it...it's just SOOOOOOOOOO not his personality. Does that make sense? :confused3 He is a very rough-and-tumble, seems-older-than-he-is little boy. I can't even dress him in "baby boy" styles of clothing. It just doesn't look right. I'm totally comfortable with boys wearing boutique stuff, but I don't believe it suits him. He never looks "polished"...he's always dirty, sweaty, disheveled, and smiling! He gets it from me. Dh is a catalog-dresser and I am a sweatpants and tees kinda gal. :rotfl: I DID have a friend make us matching tie-dyed Mickey Mouse shirts for his first trip, and got some cute pics of him wearing that. I'd love to post and I'll try to have a friend help me do that in a minute. That's about as cutesy as it gets for him, though. Wah!
My little boy just turned 2, and is also a real boy- boy!! He loves cars, balls, and makes dinosaur noices all day LOL! I did make him a couple of pairs of cute "boyish" shortalls for our trip. I also bought him a custom made Cars shortall set on eBay that was really lightweight and cute. His knees and face somehow always seemed dirty but he looked adorable! Here are a few pictures- we just got back from our wonderfull week long Dsiney vacation today (boo hoo)

Did you buy the outfits? If so, could you pass along the VERY talented person who you bought them from? They are GREAT and your kids look so adorable!

Wow. Cute, very cute. But I *so* don't have the type of money it must take to purchase these types of outfits, and I definitely don't have the talent or time to make them! :) I am doing good just to come up with the money to even GO to WDW, let alone buy elaborate outfits! ;)

About the closest I am going to come is to put some pre-made princess and Pooh appliques on some shirts and capris for DD and onesies/pants whatever for baby DD.

That said, DD will be wearing her Little Dress Up Shop princess outfits when she goes to the Princess character breakfast and on the days we know she'll meet princesses in the MK. I like them because they're not the run-of-the-mill Disney store princess outfits. They're unique looking, but still Disney princess....and the Ariel one is just TOO cute!

Last week I saw so many girls dressed in princess or minnie mouse outfits that were adorable but I couldn't help but wonder, are these children not hot. September is still a hot month for Orlando and having a hot cranky child is so unfun. I dressed alll my kids in mathcing outifits each day to keep track of them and after we got home and saw the pictures I realized how cute they looked. All four boys had the same shirt and shorts and the little girl had the same colors but not the same outfit. Now shopping for all of this was a long drawn out task but the picutures look good and we sure kept track of them.

I was at the World last week too and my family was dressed in matching outfits as well!

Wow!! ALL of these outfits look adorable on these already adorable kids!! I really would like to try the applique process. I'll let you know if I'm successful or not. :confused3

Thanks for sharing the pictures!! How cute!!! :sunny:

Back in the '70's my mom dressed my brother and I in matching outfits... plaid pants, patch jackets... we were truly stylish! ;)

Nowadays it seems a little more complicated to dress kids. I have two daughters (ages 22 mos and 3.5 yrs) and yes, I do dress them alike sometimes. When we're at Disney I try to find them nice outfits (skorts, embroidered t-shirts) to wear. And of course they have their favorite character t-shirts that they wear.

I must admit.... and please keep in mind this is just my personal opinion... I have to say that the decorated overalls are a bit over the top. I'd rather have the attention on my child than on her clothes.

Oh, ladies, you have brought back such wonderful memories for me. I am a 56 year old mother of 3 daughters and used to do this sort of thing for my girls when they were young. I used my sewing machine so hard and it still keeps going. Now I have 3 little grandkiddies - boy age 2 adopted from Russia, boy age 12 months and girl 18 months. I have got to make them at least one outfit for WDW now that I see these adorable pictures. Your children are all so beautiful!!!!

I still go to WDW every year in my Disney clothes. I have Disney everything because I just love WDW!!!!!

Yes, it is hot in Sept and Oct, but I know if I had one of those dresses when I was a child, I wouldn't have cared how darn hot it was - I would wear it!!!
I just love to see all the little princesses all over the world. I know most of them are in them all over the parks because they WANT to be and WON"T take them off!!! That's how my liittle Makayla is...she has a mind of her own.

I know that there are so very blessed kiddies here - and some loving mommies who just adore their little ones!

Blessings to all!

I remembered this post and wanted to share the dress I got my DD for our trip in October. We just got it in the mail today...so I had to try it on her! Here's the pic (sorry they are kinda dark...rainy day here in WI so we were trapped inside!):

You can't really see it, but the outfit also has a cute pair of bloomers for underneath in a bright yellow.

I found this outfit on ebay...it was made by a mother/daughter team. Beautiful work. The dress is gorgeous. Checking their auctions they also have a custom peasant Belle costume that is soooo cute! The ebay name is bluebottledesigns. I wish DD was a bit older, I LOVE the Belle costume also!
