Hello! I am starting to look at wedding dresses, and I have two I love so far but have not tried on yet. They are very different styles however, so I was looking for some opinions. I think I would like to have 2 dresses, though my Mom is already giving me a hard time about this and calling me a diva! Haha. I would like 2 either for my Disney Wedding and the home reception (if we have one) or for the Disney wedding ceremony and reception.

#1: is by the Crown Collection. It is a slimmer dress with lots of sparkle and ruffles on it. It is very "me" because I used to do pageants and love to be a glamour girl. I can picture it for the reception dress (or home recpetion). My friend owns a gown store, and has it in stock in my size! So she is sending it to me to try on this week! Here are some pictures:

#2: is by Maggie Sottero and is the "Capri" style. It is a pig poofy "princess" dress with rhinestones at the top and a pick-up skirt. It is exactly the style dress that I have always pictured getting married in, and I think it would be perfect for a Disney Wedding. I still have to track down a store to try it on in though. I'd love to hear what you think about these dresses! My wedding is still a few years away, so Im not sure if I should even be looking yet but I am so excited to! I think it is the best part of planning! Thanks for your help!! :goodvibes

I really wanted/do a second dress but I haven't been back to look at more :rotfl: I really like the second dress thats my vote! :thumbsup2 But in the end its up to you!

they are both beautiful! I actually prefer number 1 because its less traditional and you said it was more "you", and it would be nice to have a unique wedding dress.

You cant go wrong with either one, they are both beautiful. Maybe you can find a way to get a deal online or something so you can swing both?

Oh, I like both dresses.

Number one does scream pageant. And it's very different. It has personality. If you want to look "diva" on your wedding day, then go for it. I also think it would make a good reception dress.

Number two screams "princess." I love it - so elegant and innocent. It would be absolutely perfect for a Disney wedding.

However, it's your wedding... if you want to go with a diva theme (hey... maybe hollywood!), then dress number one would work great. It definitely has character.

i saw your name and thought I remembered you being several years away from your wedding

BE CAREFUL! I have seen many people be excited for a wedding dress that they LOVE and buy it, store it for years for someday and then the dress is either not current or has storage problems and worse, don't fit after all those years and they have sold the dress for much less (because it is no long "the" style)

I know you don't think styles change that much in 5 years, but they really do!

GOOD ADVICE, BETSY!

But if you want an opinion, Dress 1 looks VERY Flamenco dancerish. I think it looks like it belongs on a Dancing with the Stars episode. But it's up to you if you like that look. Also, looking at a dress in pictures is much different than when you go to try it on in the store.

I thought this same thing, it looks like a 'dance' dress. Number two is beautiful though!

my friend had that exact dress as number 2!

also from expeirence i bought a dress like a week after i got engaged and put it away for another year and a half and hated it when i put it on!

so i'd probably wait.....

Thanks everyone for your responses. I actually got dress #1 in this afternoon and tried it on. I have to rule it out now. It was gorgeous in person but the mermaid style wasn't really flattering on me because I am very short. I still love #2 though and can't wait to try it on! I might have to add some more sparkle though. I want to try somedresses on, but I think your right that I should wait a while before buying anything. Thanks again!
