Okay...so I have a really interesting dilemma.

Two weeks ago I went shopping for a vintage 50s formal dress too wear to my friends 50s Sweet Sixteen. I found one and while it was really tight, I got it on no problem. It fit perfectly. Well...my mom was going to shorten it a little so she told me to put it on. When I went to put it on and the zipper would absolutely not go up. It was the weirdest thing. I got on the scale earlier this morning and I weigh exactly the same as I did two weeks ago. The only difference is I have my period now. I'll be done by the time I have to go to the party...but I'm still concerned the dress isn't going to fit.

Any advice/suggestions? Should I worry?

I would maybe buy a back-up dress but do not rip the tags off it. That way if you don't need it you can return it. If you do need it then oh well you have an extra dress. XD

That would be a good suggestion except...its insanely hard to find vintage 50s dresses :( haha

Oh and I forgot to mention...this has happened to me before. Although it was in reverse...

I bought a dress when I had my period and then later when I went to wear it it was too big.

Ugh. This is horrible. haha

XD
Did you try H&M or Forever 21. They sometimes have vintagey dresses.

Thats weird! Who would of ever guessed! Hope it fits the way it was the first time!

it should fit when you're done this had happened to me before, I was really close to getting it when i needed to go to a sweet sixteen. I had my mom try to zip me up but I had to hold in my breath so much I thought I was going to die, it fit but I couldn't breathe. A few months later I tried it on when I didn't have it and it was loose. I was so relieved! Don't worry you should be fine.

Phew. You guys are making me feel better.

I was so nervous...

And we don't have an H&M near us...but we do have a Forever 21!
I guess I'll try there towards the end of the week if I have to!

I agree with the back up dress idea.

You'll be fine. More than likely its your period. I've had this happen to me many times before. You shouldn't worry, but if it makes you feel better buy a back up dress. Don't stree over it, you'll be fine. :goodvibes

When you have your period you get bloated. Has happened to me many times before. You'll be fine!

I gain 4-5 lbs on my period XD
DON'T WORRY!

Ebay, there is SO many vintage dresses!
And now that Saks has all the vintage style dresses, every other store will follow.
I just googled vintage clothing.. and found so many sites with them, so you can just shop online.
