Hello,

I live about 200km from Euro Disney, My family and I are going to be visiting first time to Dinsey World on 25/6/11. We go to ED several times a year. In France we are more laid back when it comes to the human body then most of the USA.

We want be conform to your standards and dont want to hurt feelings. So here are my questions:

1) We are stay at the Contemporay - can you sunbath topless?
2) In the summer months I never were a Bra, just a light shirt. is that a problem, will they not let us in the parks? Will anyone get offend?

Thank you,

Jean

1. Sure. Like most places in the US (especially "family" establishments) clothing is optional.
2. see answer to number 1

Have fun planning! ;)

For question 1, you will probably be asked to cover up.
For question 2, it may depend on how transparent your light shirt is.

I personally don't mind if anyone sunbathes topless but I think 99% of the families at Contemporary might mind, so I would say no.

As far as no bra- whatever floats your boat. However, when you get wet on a water ride, and the shirt rubs, it might cause some chaffing.

Depends, what do you look like?

As an American who lived in Europe for 3 months - I was very uncomfortable with how Europeans have no shame in showing their bodies out in public. It definately was a culture shock :scared1:

I would say yes there is certain places you can sunbath topless in FL but Disney is not one of them.

Public nudity is not generally permitted in the United States, there are even laws against it in most places (including Walt Disney World), so sunbathing topless at the Contemporary is not a good idea.

There's no requirement that you wear a bra to the parks (as long as you have a shirt on; if the shirt reveals too much, it's possible you may not be admitted.)

1. No.
2. Probably not a problem.

Going topless is prohibited at Disney and so is going bottomless unless your name is Donald Duck.

I loved France, and the culture. I would rather every woman in the world walk around topless and men walk around bottomless so the general U.S. population will quit objectifying ****s and private parts and see them for what they are- recreative organs that really become commonplace if you see them everywhere.
Except at Disney-we gotta have some standards.

Yeah, that's exciting....let's see weiners and ****s all day....are you trying to decrease the population?

Of cousre I would only sunbath if it was allowed.
I'am ok looking at. I wear DG t shirts, and tank top.

Very upset at reaction to post #1, In Europe most beaches are Clothing option. Topless Everywear. Not looking for sarcasim

What is funny to me is I Love the USA. But you show so much voilence on Tv and Cinema and allow your children to play Video tv game. and that is ok. A human being shows skin on TV. The whole country shut down and protest.

In Europe, hardly an violence on TV, Cinema yes. Nudity all over the TV. including commercial. The human body come in all shapes and sizes. But american would rather see blood and guts, and let there children watch, but show a breast....

Not this American... I really don't understand this country's tolerance of graphic violence, especially when contrasted to our puritanical views on the human body.

I'd rather my DS see nudity over violence any day.

Okay, maybe I'll put the popcorn down and make a comment--it's a forum right?

If you honestly didn't know about the sunbathing--now you do--it's illegal. We just don't do that in public here.

About the undergarments... no one can force you to wear a bra--however, most people (excluding men with wondering eyes) do not want to see this. Out of respect, if you have a thin or light colored shirt on--you really should cover up underneath. Can anyone force this--no way--totally an opinion. Will people make comments to each other about it, and some even be disgusted--yes. It's our culture. You have yours, we have ours. If I were a friend giving a recommendation... I would say to wear something, if even a shelf tank top underneath.

popcorn::

#1 - Nope, can't sunbathe topless at WDW
#2 - I would probably suggest at least wearing a bikini top (if you don't want to wear a bra) underneath your shirt. That is what I did when we were there last September.

....and, wow, your second post made me . I have no words.
