Dress Code:Narcoosees, Yachtsman Steakhouse?

OK, we're considering both of these restaurants, but are aware there is a "dress code" of sorts - me, i'll wear a skirt and nice top - but my husband - well, he's not a "suit and tie" kind of guy (especially on vacation in disney world)

So: What is the minimal "dress up" he'd have to endure at either Narcoosees and Yachtsman Steakhouse? Nice t-shirt and jeans acceptable? Something more formal? Or should we just forget both?

Hi,

The dress code is really just a suggestion, and is not strictly enforced. The main idea is: no swimwear, no tank tops on men, and no cut-off shorts.

The only WDW restaurant that would require a jacket on a man is Victoria & Albert's.

The restaurants you mention would prefer "business casual" but in reality you will see everything in there from business casual to shorts and t-shirts!

No flip flops either. When I was at Narcoossee's in February, I saw people really dressed up, and people wearing casual clothes. Like some of the men had on nice tailored pants and polo shirts, nothing too swank. I didn't see jeans, but there were kids there.

Thanks for the quick reply - so nice, hemmed denim shorts, a decent dressy t-shirt (no slogans) would suffice at either?

Always keeping in mind that the dress code is rarely enforced--the "official" business casual code as promulgated suggests T shirts are not acceptable. "Dress shorts" are ok, as are jeans. As noted, flip-flops (at least pool style) are out.
But as Bob P suggested, the main thrust seems to be to keep out those who might show up in swimming trunks.
I believe you'll be fine as you plan to dress at both spots--but just wanted you to know--
and for goodness sake forget that suit and tie!!!
