Is there any dresscode at Yachtman's?
We would like to try but really isn't big on going back to the hotel just to change.
Thanks :)

Yes, there is a dress code at Yachtsman Steakhouse:

Men: Dress slacks, jeans, trousers, or dress shorts, short or long-sleeved shirt
with a collar required. Jackets are optional.

Ladies: Jeans, skirts, or dress shorts with blouse or sweater, or a dress required.

Not permitted: tank tops, swimming suits or swim suit cover ups, t-shirts, hats
for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing of any kind.

Hi,
I was at the Yachtmans for dinner last week..Yes there is a dress code but....Alot of people were not dressed to the nines..Some people had on tanks and flip flops..Nothing was said to them as far as I know, most men did not have collars on their shirts..
It was a very very nice place to eat..I hope you have a fantastic time..I just arrived home from a 10 day trip and the yachtmans steakhouse was definitely one of my best places to eat..

Guys in jeans or dress shorts could purchase a shirt with a collar at the YC gift shop. That way no return trip to the hotel. Besides, every guy should go home with a new WDW golf shirt.:earsboy:

LOL!!
If I have my way DBF would have a full wardrobe of mikey polo shirts... but alas they are waaaay to expensive so I have to resort to buying them once every couple of years... :rotfl:

I was at Artist Point one night in June and they were lending men shirts to cover their tee shirts. But, I've never seen this at YSH.

What a shame, both that folks deliberately ignored the dress code, and that the restaurant didn't enforce it. I'm glad to read that Artist Point is doing so.

Just like to point out that i when i made reservations for the YSH i was told that there was NO dress code at all! Obviously i know there is but if i was to turn up at the restaurant wearing a tshirt and flip flops that wouldnt be my fault would it! I think the problems with dress codes comes down to disney not communicating them properly! We made ressies at loads of restaurants that i know have dress codes, citricos, cali grill etc and the only one that i was told had a dress code was V&A!! :confused3

I agree that it wouldn't be a guest's fault if they weren't informed about the dress code, but it becoming increasingly difficult for that to be the case. The dress code is featured in the Dining Plan brochure, and is listed in the dining guide every on-property guest receives on check-in. Regardless, the restaurant still has an obligation to enforce its rules consistently, making up for whatever inconvenience they have to impose on guests who aren't prepared to comply with the dress code due to their own lack of dilligence when taking reservations.

Thats interesting, we are going in December and have never even seen a DDP brochure? prehaps thats because we are in the UK? i dont know. When we stayed at the PO in may we did not receive a dining guide, except for those ones in our resort.

I do agree that it should be made alot clearer as i for one would certainly feel out of place if i turned up at a restaurant wearing shorts and a tee and everyone else was dressed smartly. Then again the restaurants should enforce these dress codes! Either people have to obide by them or not. :confused3

The Dining Plan brochure is provided to Dining Plan guests when they check into their hotel. You also receive the dining guide at the same time.

Hi! We were there last week and it seemed that everyone followed the dress code. Even the children had polo shirts on. It seems to add to the atmoshphere of such a wonderful restaurant.

When I booked the Yachtsman steakhouse I was told dress was business casual. We were there last week and almost everyone adhered to the dress code.

We were at YSH 2 times last week and saw a few people with t-shirts and flip-flops on. My DH and I kind of thought it was funny because they reminded DH that he would need to remove his hat when we checked in but they seated us next to a guy that looked like he just left the beach with surfer dude shorts and a t-shirt with some stupid saying on it. Another diner had a ratty looking basketball shirt and jean shorts on. There were others but they were nit this extreme. Bad clothes from others did not not make our meals bad, it was the best food we had last week.

I agree--unless you are a "walk-up" who is staying off property, you probably should have been made aware of the dress code.

However, as you can see, enforcement is hit or miss.
