Dreams Unlimited Reasurance Please..

Hey Westjones -

Girls Scout Leader is going from Michigan. And that is one of the best reasons to hang in there through the insanity of Brownies when you think they will never get it together - once they ARE older you can do really cool stuff.

Deb

I didn't realize she was coming that far (but now that I think about it, maybe I did know that from a much earlier discussion).

So "Girl Scout Leader", are you driving or flying? I can't imagine driving that far with the girls. If you do 'drive' and need a place in Indiana to stay our council built a new office a couple years ago that has mats for on the floor, showers and a kitchen (Wapahani Council, in Daleville, IN).

It would seem so hard to raise enough money to do something like this. I have girls who parents won't pay for ANYTHING! If I had girls whose parents would pay half or something like that maybe we could do it.

I have 'thought' about taking them to Disney's resort at HH to stay in a Grand Villa and then go to Juliette Low's house in Savanah (we are DVC members). But that would have to be when they are older.

I'm on GS burn out right now. Cookie sales just started and I am not in the mood.
Well, Girl Scout Leader, I sure hope you give a trip report when you get back. I would love to hear how it goes for your troop!

I just wondered, are the adults paying their own way, or did the troop raise enough for girls and adults to go?

It sounds like a super trip! Maybe you should send in a picture to Leader's Magazine when you are done!

:bounce: :bounce: Love DU :bounce: :bounce:

We've used DU many times for land/sea and sea only and fiind their service wonderful. They are so friendly and prompt if you have any questions.

Wish the Girls Congrats on a Job Well Done!

You must be a reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly good leader too!

Thanks for sending along your rate quote. I will look at my prices a little more carefully and see if I am getting a discount too. DU has been helpful, though I am on day 2 waiting for rate quote. MY TA is very nice, though.

Good luck and have a great time planning!

Ok, for those of you wondering how we are doing this:

6 girls, 5 adults (it's not even because one mom has two daughters)
Friday evening: Flying down from Michigan
Happy Limo to Shades of Green (Girls think
its gonna be a van:p )
Friday - Thurs morning: Shades of Green (family in troop is
military)
Sat - Wed: 5 day unlimited park hoppers
Thurs morning: Travel to port, go on 3 night CRUISE
Sunday: Fly home and die of exaustion

total cost: Approx 1200 per person, but we ahve no idea about airfare this far out, and many meals will be on your own inside the parks.

We have a schedule for payments: Feb 1 for crusie dep, June for hotel reservations, etc.

And no, the girls are not fundraising for the adults. They have enough!

I am sorry I did not read through the threads to see when you were traveling but make sure you check with DCL or DU about a active duty (MIL) discount. We used it last October and it saved a ton on money :). Currently the MIL discount runs through May 2003 and from my conversation on board and my e-mail to DCL Customer Service a decision to extend the MIL discount is made based on availability and made by the Revenue Department. Like I said it saved us enough money where we could go and spend 3 days at WDW for Halloween...........hoping they extend it to apply to my 10/26/03 cruise. Good luck and have fun.

A few years ago, I dealt with a wonderful lady at Dreams Unlimited Vacations. I cannot remember her name though. I would like to ask for her when I make DCL reservations and deal with her.
Can anyone give me a name? I remember that she did not live in Floriday, rather New Jersey or somewhere up north.

Was it 'Donna'? She is wonderful.

You can always request the Agent you had in the past when you book your reservation, Dreams does have a record of this.

We are booked for the February 8th Eastern Cruise and I was just checking the DCL prices tonight. They just went down $460 less than what I paid. I emailed DU and they will be crediting my credit card. That's over $700 Canadian I will be getting back. I don't know of any other travel agent that has that kind of guarantee...

We have used a Regina on our first DU experience and YES you can ask to have the same agent every time. I believe that Regina lives in NY. That's what we do, we love her and she is soooooooooooo nice to work with.
