Dreams Unlimited clients - gift basket in the stateroom?

Do all Dreams Unlimited clients get a gift basket in their stateroom (through Port Canaveral)?

Asking because if not I want to surprise my mom with a basket, but then I was listening to a podcast and heard this... wasn't sure if it was still happening

Unfortunately, DCL has decided to prohibit outside vendors from providing gift baskets to be placed in staterooms. The latest I read here, DU was testing out mailing gift baskets to clients before they left for the cruise. I'm not sure if they are still doing that or not.

Since it's by mail, does anyone know if you have to leave from PC to get a gift basket, or can it be from any port?

It used to be that the basket was only delivered (onboard) for the cruises from Port Canaveral. I believe they are only mailing them for the Port Canaveral departures. I could be wrong.

I'm glad you posted this. I was going to ask the same thing. We sail in a few weeks. I was wondering if we would receive a DU basket still or not (hoping so)!

We are sailing 3/21 out of PC and got our basket in the mail 3/3. It was a nice surprise and helped with the pre-cruise excitement!

We did a 3 day cruise on the Dream in Dec 2014; no gift basket but we got our credit to our account on Day 1.

Yeah, in December was when DU was scrambling to figure out how to handle Shirley not being able to deliver any longer. A lot of people didn't receive the "traditional" gift basket.

What is in the baskets? Has anyone got one that has sailed out of another port other then PC? Booked with DU for our oct cruise out of San Diego and would love a basket, although they probably wouldnt post one to me here in Australia anyway lol.

I don't know what is in the new basket, but I booked through DU on our last cruise (2012) and I remember that we got:
A reusable fabric bag.
A magnetic white board and wipe off pen (very useful)
A couple of re-usable coffee mug type things (awesome! but I promptly lost mine on board)
Several prepackaged snacks
Some pens
I think some beach toys for the kiddo?

The baskets were always only for those people sailing out of PC.

We didn't get our basket as we are from Canada. We stopped in to the Dreams Unlimited store in Cape Canaveral. She gave us our basket then. It was a lovely visit and an awesome basket full of useful items. I will always use Dreams Unlimited. They were excited for our cruise and so knowledgeable!

Ours in February had the reusable bag, white board, insulated drink mugs, deck of cards, glow necklaces, clip on clock, highlighter, and magnetic bag clips.

Is it one basket per stateroom or one per booking? We did a single booking with 3 staterooms.
