Dreams Unlimited clients - gift basket in the stateroom?

As of last July they were. Haven't heard any different from a friend of ours who was on 2 weeks ago on the Dream.

Does anyone know if they are still mailing the baskets?

Yes, we are still mailing gift baskets to all Dreams Unlimited Travel clients with a U.S. or Canadian mailing address.

This now applies to ALL sailings, regardless of departure port.

We regret that we are still not able to mail these to our clients outside of the U.S. or Canada but if you contact your DU agent he/she could help arrange for you to either pick up your gift bag at our Welcome Center in Port Canaveral or have it delivered to your resort if you have a pre-cruise stay planned.

We sailed out of Port Canaveral on May 2nd and received our gift basket about 2 weeks before our cruise. It was very thoughtful and made us even more excited for the cruise!

We are from the UK so didn't expect to get gift baskets for our last Cruise.
As we had a rental car for the first time rather than being on the DCL bus we decided to drop in to the Welcome Centre to say thanks for the great service we have always had from DU. Not only did we get offered coffee but we were also given gifts for dropping by and they made us up gift baskets while we waited. We certainly left with our hands full! We also discovered the car rental return was directly opposite so that was a bonus. We got lots of comments as we carried our baskets on to the ship with us, so made sure we explained where they came from.

We leave ours in the box that it is mailed in, take it with us to the port, carry it into the stateroom and open it there. Some extra work but we get eventually to the original experience of having it in the stateroom when we arrive.

Love that idea!

Just got out basket in the mail. It is bigger than I remember. We will now open it instead in our hotel room near the port the morning of our cruise.

As some others have stated, it is nice to stop by the Welcome Center to say hello. Since we live in the US, we received our basket a few weeks before the cruise and were able to pack the contents in our bags. I am sad that DCL no longer allows them to deliver to the terminal, but this is a great alternative (plus it allows DU to send the baskets to all their clients, even if not sailing out of Port Canaveral.

We stayed local the night before the cruise, and stopped by the Welcome Center the morning of our cruise. Teresa and staff are very friendly, and bestowed even more gifts for our family. We talked about what excursions we were planning and other activities. After a bit, we headed to the terminal to begin our cruise. It is such a nice way to begin the day/week.

Our first cruise is the 8/8 Wonder to Alaska, booked through DU. We got our basket a few weeks ago--a great surprise for the entire family. DD16 is already claiming the highlighter is hers after the cruise. Such a great idea for the actual 'basket' part too! So useful!

I'm very excited, between the ship board credit and gift basket, they really are making our trip more magical. We cruise in September of this year.

This is great to read! I didn't know that DCL stopped the gift baskets at PC. In 2012 we sailed out of NYC so didn't get a gift basket. We're sailing out of NYC again this year and just figured that we wouldn't get a gift basket, so now I'm really looking forward to receiving it in the mail beforehand!! :yay:

As of 2016, our basket that came in the mail had...
A reusable fabric tote bag
A magnetic white board and wipe off pen - only thing we did end up bringing
A couple of re-usable plastic water bottles
Dreams Unlimited pen
Multi-color highlighter pens
Flashlight keychain
Two tubes of glowsticks (which we re-gifted on board to random fish extenders we found in the hallways)

We did the Alaska cruise in May of this year and was quite surprised to receive a fun little basket delivered to our home a few weeks before our cruise!

One was 2/2014 and one was 7/2015. Yes I live in the US and booked through them.

On the 2/2014, was your embarkation port Miami? Was it Galveston? If it was, at that time it was only Port Canaveral that got the gift baskets. I used DU on 5/14 and embarkation was Miami, so no gift basket for me. I did get one this year for my Norwegian Fjords cruise this summer that was mailed to me.

Yes, it was Miami in 2014 and then Vancouver 2015
