Dreams Do Come True in Port Orleans. ~~*The End! Final Thoughts. 2/25 Pg. 41*~~

What a lovely evening! I remember the soothing, wonderful sounds of hearing the horses clopping up and down the cobblestones at French Quarter! Such a great memory! The Veras enjoying the romantic ride cracked me up! :rotfl:

That sundae from Ghiradelli looks delicious! So need to make sure we head there on the next trip!

Wicked blurry picture but it shows our Mansion Love.

Nooooooo, now I'm seriously second-guessing my choice of CBR for November. I really like the looks of the mansions... :rolleyes1

Great update! The carriage ride sounds really nice!

What a nice relaxing evening at WDW! Makes me want to take another adults only trip. Can't do these relaxing things anymore

Can't wait for the next update! High Life?!?! Is a balloon life in your future? Or California Grill???popcorn::
You totally need another adults trip. Yeah..maybe I should have said...hillbilly high life....or simple girls high life. :rotfl2:

I am enjoying reading your trip report. Love how you are both talking about your trip. I am going in June to stay at Port Orleans Riverside with my husband and adult children. Can not wait.:cool1::banana:
Thank you! You will LOVE Riverside, it is just beautiful.

Glad you enjoyed the carriage ride so much. We did it a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Port Orleans sure is beautiful in the evening, isn't it? Sounds like you both were really enchanted by Riverside, but then again, I knew you would be. Looking forward to hearing about your "completely different morning". Very intriguing.
Port Orleans is GORGEOUS in the evening. It's like you are in a totally different place besides Disney. Kinda like the vibe I had from staying at Wilderness Lodge.

sounds like a really lovely evening! Glad your Vera's got a little romantic time together :rotfl2:

the sundae looks yummy. I would really love to have a No Way Jose in May but I'm not sure it will happen, that sundae is my second choice
Yes, our Veras enjoyed themselves on their romantic carriage ride.

I recognzie Steve, but we had a woman for our driver. Glad you guys enjoyed it and completely understand falling in love with POR.
Steve was such a joy! You could tell he really loved his job.

Awwww Bob is so cute! How nice that he was able to retire at Disney ;)
Love the Vera's bonding on the cushion! ;)
Okay that sundae is looking sooooo good right about now!! I usually get the Reese peanut butter cup sundae at Friendly's with black raspberry ice cream! :lovestruc Good stuff!! I have had one of the Ghiradelli's too and WOW!

Tracy
Mmmm....Ghiradelli's is so yummmmmmy. Sugar overload at it's best.

That looks like so much fun and POR just looks lovely! I could definitely see staying there for an adult trip!
I'm really looking forward to staying at POR with Marc. I think it will be very romantic.

Oh, I so love that carriage ride. Now I am so confused. Just today I changed our 3 days at WDW prior to our cruise from CSR to AK. DS has always wanted to go to AK so I thought it would be a nice surprise. But after seeing the picture of the Mansions at POR I am smitten. I love  them I tell ya. Should I change again-what to do???

I am going to have to get me some of that ice cream on the next trip. We did Beaches & Cream in August and loved it, but now I need to try that.

Something about riding the boat to DTD just makes it better, I loved that about POFQ.

I sure hope they still have those cookbooks when I go back in December-and now I want Mary Poppins to sign it. :rotfl:
I fell head over heels in love with Riverside so I say you should switch. You can always stay at Animal Kingdom another time. ;)

The carriage ride looks and sounds awesome. Too bad you were missing the romantic vibe. ;) There's always next time.

I think I may have mansion love too based on your blurry picture! :lovestruc

Can't wait to find out what "living the high life" means... did you go up in the Downtown Disney balloon? Head to the GF for high tea? Don't keep us waiting too long! :flower3:
Oh, you would love the mansions! They are so beautiful. Yeah...again....it's the hill billy high life. :rotfl:

Yes, the horses clopping is so soothing. It just makes you feel like a princess in your carriage. :rotfl2:

Great update! The carriage ride sounds really nice!

Denise
I am going to enable you....ready? You should totally switch to POR!! :lmao:

I am so glad you loved POR! We honeymooned there and it is my parent's favorite resort! In fact on the quiz on FB last year about disney resorts that was the one that won for me... which did not surprise me at all.

Despite DVC I know we will be back! The carriage ride would be a fun way to get introduced to that resort too.

Excited to see what the next day entails..

I imagine a honeymoon at POR would have been fabulous! I really liked the carriage ride, it was a neat way to see the resort.

Great DtD photos! Bob is so pretty. I love that you always keep us guessing what you will be doing next!

POR sounds amazing! I just saw a pic of one of the mansions over on the Purple Van thread and sighed at it...BEAUTIFUL! I can certainly see why you fell in love with it! I look forward to your next trip for even more pictures of it.

I laughed out loud at the Veras pic and your comment! :lmao:

What a great day at Epcot AND a carriage ride?! Perfect! :thumbsup2

Looks like you ladies had a great time! That carriage ride would be so much fun, and I bet you're right, romantic if you were with your sweetie. :lovestruc

And you ladies look AWESOME! I love your 2 comparison pictures - congrats to both of you! You're an inspiration to me!

I have had soo much fun looking at your pics and reading about your trip it looks like you both had a great time. thanks for sharing.

Your Veras do look quite cozy!;)

I think the carriage ride sounds heavenly! There is nothing like the sound, smell, feel of a horse, love them!
The mansions are gorgeous! I don't blame you for having them on your must do list!
Anxiously waiting for your next update!!!

I am defintely subbing!! I really enjoyed your past TR's so I am sure i will enjoy this one!!:):thumbsup2

Nice update, girls! I would love to be taking a morning walk by the river between POR and POFQ this cold February morning.

That sundae from Ghiradelli looks delicious! So need to make sure we head there on the next trip!

I thought of that, too - hearing the horses clip clop right outside our ground floor room at POFQ. :)

It's been far too long since I have had a Ghiradelli ice cream treat. It's going on the summer list. Sometimes I pay the extra few pennies to buy Ghiradelli brownies at the store, just so I can get a momentary Disney connection.

Have you guys ever been over to the stables at Fort Wilderness? If not, and you like horses, that's something you would probably very much enjoy.

I loved the boats when I stayed at POR too. I went to DD way more than I would have just because I liked the boat ride.

The beignets at POFQ are wonderful. My family devoured quite a few orders after an afternoon we spent swimming there. In fact my kids preferred the POFQ pool to POR's.

Really? The smell? I like horses just as much as the next girl, but I don't think I'm crazy about the smell!!

The POR mansions are really nice. The whole resort is so relaxing, we really enjoyed the grounds and atmosphere. It was nice to come "home" to after a busy park day. If I ever get DH to go back to mod, I'd like to stay at POFQ. But we keep getting these bargain basement rates on deluxe (HA!) so we keep booking deluxe. DH is turning into a deluxe snob. I should make him read the bank statements and bills more carefully!

It's my favorite girls!!!! I must say that you both look beautiful in the intro picture! I've got a lot of catching up to do, so here I go....

Her parents made me laugh though because they clearly didn’t get that we were Soarin’ over California.

“Look, there is the coast of Maine!”

“That must be Nevada!”

“Skiers from Colorado!”

And my very favorite….

“Oh, there we are….at Disney World!”

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The corn chowder and seafood empanda are making me hungry!

Hey look, it's Soleil!! how are you? In your new house?
I have a hard time when I read about all the yummy foods. Always makes me hungry too!

Great DtD photos! Bob is so pretty. I love that you always keep us guessing what you will be doing next!
Gotta keep it interesting! ;)

Thanks! The carriage ride was awesome, even with my best friend. It doesn't have to be romantic but it could be.

Don't they look cozy? We probably should have given them more privacy...maybe we could have gotten some wristlets out of the deal. :rotfl2:

Thanks for joining in!!

I'd love to be taking walk with you, MeMom. How are your knees doing? I haven't been on your thread much, way too busy lately.

I am not usually a huge fan of DTD but I went a lot this trip and I liked how it was a nice low key way to spend an hour or two.

Really? The smell? I like horses just as much as the next girl, but I don't think I'm crazy about the smell!!

I could totally pass on the smell. I liked POFQ more than I liked Wilderness Lodge. I think I'm a mod girl...phew. So much easier on the budget. :rotfl2:

Hi Soleil! How are you doing!!??

Hey look, it's Soleil!! how are you? In your new house?
I have a hard time when I read about all the yummy foods. Always makes me hungry too!
Me too. I call it virtual eating.

:rotfl:

I love that carriage ride... Ed and I took the kids when we stayed at POFQ in 2005. Glad we did it when they were little... it would be a tight fit now!!

BTW, have you read this blog on WDW lamp posts??
