Dreams Come True

Sometimes...I think some of the postcards on that website aren't true.

Sometimes...I think some of the postcards on that website aren't true.

I think some people write fake ones, and having seen some, I hope to god that they're fake. People send some scary stuff there.

I love that.
It's cute, and I kind of believe it.
Sometimes things happen and make you happy and stuff, but you never thought you'd want something like this to happen.

I felt the same way when I read that this morning.

Postsecrets are addicting to read.
I go there every Sunday.

I agree, some do scary me as well, I try to check it every sunday but i sometimes forget.

I agree. Id like to read the books as well :)

You know why we like to read those? Because we love to hear about other people's misfortunes, other people's tragedies. Other people's problems. They make us feel bigger. Better.

I have the My Secrets book and half of those seem unrealistic and scary and plain old depressing. Although, they are quite addictive and hard to put down, I hope to anyone, anything, those don't happen. They do, though. It's sad and seemingly unrealistic but they happen. The reality can seem unrealistic at times but it's true. And it's sad.

And I don't read them because they are others misfortunes. I read them because it shows what our world is like. It shows what we should try to do to become better people. To become more kinder and a better world may come out of that.

I wouldn't read them because I like having tears in my eyes because of what may have happened to someone. I'm not that kind of person.

I'm neutral - on the verge of disagreement. I believe that the dreams that mean the most to people are the dreams that hold sentimental value and the dreams that you want and have held in your heart/mind for a while and the dreams you endeavor. For instance, the dream of becoming everything you want to be and to someday achieve that is worth a great amount of value to that person.

The dreams that come true that no one knew they had are probably the things that happened that people consider "luck" or "miracles" of something that later becomes valuable to them. For instance, finding yourself in a situation that you never even gave thought to -- such as a sudden change of interest or if you by chance got landed in another career by force but then come to find it made your life that much better -- would be considered an unknown dream coming true and yet the person could feel that it is rather a "miracle" of events that became their saving grace or their precious fate or their new found glory.

A dream that comes true is a dream that one holds in oneself for a while and then to accomplish it or have it someday come true becomes a dream come true.

I definitely agree. The thing is, you've got to recognize when that dream has come true and seize it. Sometimes you're too busy dwelling on what you still don't have to recognize that you could have all you want right in front of you.

This postcard has a lot more meaning to me now then it would have years ago even weeks ago. 6 weeks from today I will be a college graduate and leave my university of 4 years for possibly the last time. The dreams I have realized and achieved here were ones I never could have imagined as a freshman in college or even a senior in college. I found best friends I thought only existed in movies through the Greek system. I wrote a senior thesis of 54pages. I applied to graduate school to get my master's. And the most important dream of all....I found my confidence in myself instead of in everyone else.
