We were wondering about the Dream Maker Silver plan that includes two "magical wishes" that can be used for dining. Is this a good deal? Any info to help make this decision will be greatly appreciated!

We did the Discovery Magic Package (last years Silver Plan) and we are doing it again this year because we loved it!!! It all depends on what you hope to get out of it. We booked it for the convenience, although you can definitely get your $$$ worth if you eat at more expensive restaurants.

I read somewhere, don't remember where, that the actual wishes are totaled for the whole stay. So, let's say in my case, there are 2 adults and one child (9). We are staying for 7 nights, giving us a total of 14 wishes each, or 42 total among all of us. What I read was that the wishes were just deducted from a room total, not from each member. So, if my 9 y/o only used 1/2 her wishes, her father and I could pick up the slack so to speak. Does anyone know if this is, in fact, the case?

We just used the Silver Plan on our honeymoon and it was definitely worth it to us! We plan to go back for our 1st anniversary and use it again. We ate at the more expensive places and a few 2 wish places. We had fun seeing how much $ we could spend over what we paid:-P It was very nice to have prepaid for all of this; we didn't have to worry about bringing a lot of $ for food or having a big credit card bill waiting for us at home. Also, at a few places, you could add lobster tail to your meal since you were on the plan. I know Rainforest Cafe, Coral Reef, and Brown Derby did this; there might be more but I can't think of them now. A plus for us since DH had never had lobster and loved it:D

As far as using someone else's wishes... At the bottom of our bill it said how many wishes we had left, you just use one card to pay. So I would guess that you could use you child's wishes. I think it would be a better value for your wishes if you can...

Goofy4tink, that is precisely what we did this summer. It was myself, my DH and 2 DDs. They were only 8 & 9 at the time and don't eat very much. Many of the servers suggested using 2 wishes for the adults and paying the $5.00 for the kids meals in cash. This gave us extra wishes to use on expensive meals for the adults. We had so many wishes left, so we purchased 2 legacy tiles with the wishes. The trick is, book restaurants that are expensive and that you normally wouldn't eat at due to price. We spent an average of $100. per meal for the four of us, yet really only shelled out maybe $10.00!

We really wanted to add on one of the packages because the meals add up too fast. It is nice to know that you are just given a tally and we could use our son's wishes on meals. This will really help in the fact that he likes mostly burgers and fries. Are there many resturants to choose from with only one wish? Or are they mainly counter service?

When you purchase the silver package and you use a wish for a meal, what does it include? I know it said tax and gratuity. Is it a non-alcoholic beverage, a starter, an entree, and dessert? Or just one non-alcoholic beverage and an entree? If you get the works, then it really would be price efficient if you plan on doing one sit down meal a day, I'm starting to think. On our last trip, we stayed off site, we had one "nicer meal" at the San Angel Inn. We had 3 entrees, 2 margaritas, one cola.. after tax and tip it was $75.00-- this was lunch too.

Also, they state there are 125 restuarants to choose from. Anyone who has done this, which restuarants did you go to for one wish?

Well, I might have to make another phone call to DC (I keep asking them questions that they have to go find the answers for) unless somebody here has experienced it.

I booked the Silver Dreammaker package for our family trip in September, and we are going to have two, 2-bedroom villas at BCV. One villa, there wouldn't be a problem with all the wishes being on one card/ticket, because there will be 2 adults, 1 "junior", 1 child, and a toddler. BUT the second one there will be two sets of adults who won't be together 100% of the time. Those wishes would have to be split. Has this happened to somebody else, or should I call DC?

TIA!

Pam

That link is great and answered every question I had. Thank you for posting it!

We just returned and used the Silver plan.. while it's not nearly as good of a deal as it once was (when all the restaurants were 1 wish places, and you got an appetizer, soup or salad, entree and dessert) it's still a decent deal, if you do your homework... keep in mind that the 'wishes' are costing an adult almost $34 per wish, so spend accordingly... we found that on average, we got our moneys worth not eating at the 2 wish places, but sticking with 1 wish places. (we did eat at Yachtsman, Jiko and Flying Fish, with an average bill of $120)

Meals consist of a starter, entree, dessert and non alcoholic beverage. (Some places, Chef's de France, for example, will charge you for specialty coffees, (cappucino, espresso) while other places don't, sometimes I wonder if it's just the waiter or the restaurant... )

Some of the restaurants we ate at with the wishes this summer were:Coral Reef(lunch), Cinderella(dinner), Le Cellier(dinner), 50's Primetime Cafe(lunch), Biergarten(dinner), Artist Point(dinner)and Chef Mickey's(breakfast). As you can see, none of these are counter service. They all included appetizer, entree, soft drink, and dessert. I think the plan works well if you are a big eater and you don't mind spending an 1 1/2 eating lunch.
