Hi Everyone,
We are booked on the dream for a 4 night cruise in August. This will be our 1st Disney cruise. We are surprising our DD(11). When can we book activities and excursions. Is there anything that you recommend. I have been reading on the boards about asking for a particular dining rotation. Is one rotation better than another? If we love it, we will be purchasing a placeholder to use on a future cruise. Also any recommendations on what to do in Nassau?
Thank you for all your knowledge and helpfulness!!

As first-time DCL cruisers your activities booking window opens 75 days out.

As to the rotation, I find there's really no advantage to a specific rotation. Everyone will be assigned to each dining room and have the same menus during the cruise.

We really enjoy Animators Palate so you could ask for that twice in your rotation. I would recommend Atlantis for a port excursion. I believe you can book it through the ship or you can book a day pass directly through the hotel. It is a lot of fun and they have a water park and aquarium. The food is expensive though. I believe they have swimming with dolphins at dolphin cay next store if that is something you are interested in.

Atlantis Aquaventure in Nassau is very nice. You can book a day pass directly through them, and take shared taxis between the port and Nassau. You currently need a picture of your vaccine card on your phone to be admitted into Atlantis.

As do we. On Pirate Night, they will have put screens up from Pirates of the Caribbean and Peter Pan, etc. So I'd ask for 2 nights at AP (but ultimately everyone gets the same food at least once across all 4 nights).

When we were in Nassau, we did the Chocolate Factory. My son was almost 7 and he found some of it boring, but he really liked the tasting/making the candy bars (as did I). Obviously, not a beach trip though, so I'd follow @Cheburashka's recommendation on that one.

We are abnormal we dislike Animators so 2 nights there wouldn’t be our thing-

There is something about Enchanted Garden that’s really grown on us so we’d rather 2 nights there…

We love Animators, on the Magic (we get to try the Wonder in 2 weeks) but not so much on the Dream and Fantasy.

Also, for Nassau, we loved the Sea & Land tour that is available. We get to see some pretty sights and a little bit of culture of the island.

same I dont understand the fuzz over Animators (my least favorite restaurant on any of the ships)

It's nice they have three different ones. I don't get the "atmosphere" in Enchanted Garden at all. I don't mind Royal whichever (I forget which is which), but I cannot stand the menu - especially as someone who is gluten-free it's by far the most limiting. Unless you want Duck for 2 out of 3 courses. Blech.

We also did the chocolate factory on our last visit. I enjoyed it a fair bit more than I expected to and the chocolate was actually quite tasty! The bonbons for sale at the end are crazy priced, though.

There was only one kid there with a bunch of adults, but he seemed to have a good time eating chocolate and making a mess of his molds!

Animator's Palate is definitely nicer on the Magic class than on the Dream class. Much more creative.
