"Dream Weavers" September 1, 2011

We passed the seven month marked and I 'forgot' to post!!! Counting down. Considering we booked this almost a year ago, I am so excited it's finally getting here.

Me too! I think there is not enough time to plan! Yesterday I booked an ADR for 'Ohana for August 3rd, the day we arrive in Florida (orlando) We are to be going down to the treasure coast and stay with family until the 14th, but was just thinking that we may just 'have' to spend that first night in Orlando to 'rest' for the drive down lol! I will probably priceline or hotwire the hotel for that night. I wanted to take Emmanuela to 'Ohana because she was rather ill when we went in 2009 as a family and she really wanted to enjoy it. When we are staying at Disney before the cruise, we will be on the QSDP, so it wouldn't have been a good time to pay out of pocket, too much food! Anyway, just thought I'd mention how much fun it is to be planning!

Right now I am really concerning myself with the NYC portion of my trip. My family doesn't understand the importance of advance planning and my father actually told me "but if I want to join you to the statue of Liberty, I will just decide then" I said, ok, suit yourself! because I know that the early boats fill up fast and the later boats have horrendously long security lines... Only a Diser can understand my obsessiveness 6 months in advance! lol!:rotfl:

My DH and DD9 at time of sailing are planning this fun cruise in the Fall. We are going on a 7 night Western Carribean on April 16th! We have been planning that. Haven't had much time to research this cruise.
Is anyone planning a Fish Extender on this cruise?

Julie, welcome aboard!! We are planning on doing the Fish Extender, but haven't finalize anything since it's still a ways away. I did notice that on the Dream, we won't have fish though we'll have Seahorses, so are they still call FE? lol. Again welcome and chime in as you are able. How exciting for your seven day cruise coming up.

:cool1: We booked our flights to MCO for the cruise!!!! :cool1:

We are flying in on the 31st of August, planning on staying at the hotel near the port. On our previous cruise, we booked a rental car for the entire time and the car was left at hotel with no problems (part of their package). This was cheaper than booking one way rentals. Haven't even looked into hotel yet. We are booked for after the cruise at AKV.

Welcome to Julie and Family! How wonderful that you get to cruise both spring and fall!:cool1:

 Pat on booking air! It makes it just so much closer, doesn't it?

I love booking things! This weekend I plan on booking my Statue of Liberty visit!

So who has been reading up on reviews and info on the Dream! There were some disappointing ones, but I attribute that to the brand new part, things still being worked out. Some good tips though I'm catching up on. Any my post about seahorse extenders, found out that is not all levels, some decks still ahve fish extenders.

There is a great report that is pretty much just photos of ever possible inch of the ship. AWESOME and making me so much more excited for this trip.

Just called DVC and changed our ressie for after the cruise to a one bedroom villa (we've only stayed in studios!) So looking forward to that.

We are at Kidani Village prior to the cruise checking in 8/25. My DD 9 (almost 10) is super excited about the cruise too. This will be our first cruise. I hope we all like it.

My daughter is 9 too. She will be 10 in October.

Hi again everyone! I, too, have been reading a report or two about the dream, and Pat, I know the review you are talking about with all the photos. I refuse to read the disappointing reviews, as I am sure that they are from people whose expectations were unreasonably high or because of the 'newness' of it all. I am so glad we are going when we are, all the 'kinks' should be worked out by then. :thumbsup2

I booked one night in orlando on the 3rd through hotwire: 50 dollars total for a suite room with breakfast!:cool1: Already have theADR for Ohana that night, so I am really starting to get everything in place. Now I am just waiting for my passporter to arrive so I can write all this stuff down in one place :cutie:

Debbie, we ate at Ohana on our trip in December and oh boy was it good (as usual). We've not been able to get in there the past several years. Hopefully we'll get something for after the cruise.

We unfortunatley won't be able to make this cruise,my daughter has some major medical things going on that involve an upcoming surgery etc so the docs have advised putting this off til next year :( so we need to come off the fish extender list.Somone designed a really nice graphic for us that we were going to use as magnets hope someone here can use it ,hope you all have a wonderful trip!!!!!

Daraddg, I'm sure I am not alone in hoping that your daughter is able to shine through whatever ordeals await her. Surely a cruise next year will be all the more enjoyable and magical. Sending you happy thoughts and positive energy.:grouphug::hug::flower3:

Thank you :)

Daraddg, best wishes for a quick recovery for your daughter! And thank you for sharing the graphic, that was really nice.

The Disney Dream will still be there when your family is ready to sail again!

Now that we are six months away, I'm switching into planning mode!

As a cruise newbie, can someone explain the dining? I understand that dinner will rotate between three restaurants each night, but how does breakfast and lunch work (which dining locations are open and when)? I know that adult dining and alcohol costs extra, but what else is included in the price and what isn't?

Thanks!

I am so sorry to hear your daughter has some problems. I hope it is something they can resolve with no long lasting effects and that you'll be able to really enjoy the cruise next year.

Thank you for sharing the graphic for an awesome magnet! I love it.

SIX MONTHS!!!! Wow, it's finally feeling like it's getting here. Since we book more than a year ago, this just seems like it will fly by. Still have to get the kids passports (papers are filled, just a matter of getting to the post office and forking over the money).

Waiting for my ADR window to open to book something for dining after the cruise (since we'll be in Disney til the 7th).

I've been reading up on what's available for dining. There are some sit down locations and walk up locations. They say they'll be in the 'navigator' for the day telling you which is open for what. The only time you have a designated breakfast place is on the last morning. You are to eat where you ate the night before and at a certain time (this is to move everyone off the ship in an orderly manner).

Interesting, especially about the last breakfast. We are hoping to eat early that last day and get to WDW early. Do you know if you can select your breakfast time the last morning like we select a dinner time?

I keep forgetting to check this thread. :rotfl:

On Friday we submitted our papers for our passports and we were lucky it took us less than 20 minutes. So happy that is done. I am off to read the thread and catch up. I need to make a point of checking in regularly now since it is 6 months away.
