Dream July 19, 2011 - 5 Night Bahamas!

I will take over the roll call post from Loriluvsdisney since she has changed cruises.

Thanks CruisinEars. I updated post #1 to reflect that you are now the keeper of the list.

If you need to add anything to post #1 just PM me and I'll update.

Have fun!

Lori sorry to see you won't be joining us. Totally understand kid stuff causing plans to change. One week from today we will be back on the Wonder. Of course less then a month after we booked this one we found out Noah would miss a week of football practice. Oh well, he'll have to just work harder. We booked this on points so it's more difficult to change.

Yes, that was the problem. Thanks!

Also, my daughters, currently ages 12 and almost 10, spent some time email chatting and getting to know other girls their age leading up to our last cruise. Any tween girls out there coming on this cruise that might be interested in some chatting? If so, PM me and I'll hook you up with my daughters' emails.

We're still in the planning stages, but this looks like the cruise we'll be taking. My DDs are currently 10 and 12! It would be great for them to have someone to "meet" ahead of time. They had a blast in October on the Magic with the kids they met (online and in person before the cruise!)

Beth, I hope you will be joining us. My dd will also be 10 on this cruise and would love to have some "friends" before the cruise.

Usually I list their "cruise ages". Sarah will be 11 in October this year, but I think any of the "tween" kids will have a ball together! Megan will be 13 in October. So that is their cruise ages (11 &13). Megan, I think, still wants to be in the tween room, but we'll see what happens by then! We hardly saw her during the day last cruise. This one will be our 4th. We broke Megan's wish this year by not taking a cruise, but 4 in 5 years is "almost" 1 a year!:goodvibes

Okay, so I'm chatty! Just wondering where everyone is from. We live in Northern Virginia (fairly close to DC). How about everyone else?

Glad to see someone else who is chatty. :goodvibes

My dd will be 10 (she turns 10 in Nov) and my son will be 13 for our next two cruises. You sound just like us. We originally had a cruise for Nov booked to celebrate my dd's birthday, but we ended up canceling that one and booking the Wonder for Mar. 2011. So, no cruise for us in 2010 and my dd was very unhappy. She loves to cruise as much as her mom and dad do. :woohoo:

We are from Everett, WA about 30 minutes north of Seattle. I work in Seattle for Princess Cruises as a Reservation Agent part time.

Hmmm... so what does Princess think about you traveling DCL?:upsidedow

Our last cruise was October 2009 for our daughters' birthday. Our cruise ended on Halloween and there were a bunch of us who went MNSSHP. We booked on our previous cruise in May 2008. Anticipation definitely made it special! Plus, many of our DISboard cruise mates had sailed together previously and welcomed us into their group. It made for a lot of chatting on the cruise meet thread, so we felt like we already knew them. Plus, our daughters had friends to hang out with as soon as we boarded!

My DD will be 12 in May and it would be nice for her to know someone before the cruise starts. This will be our first Disney cruise. If anyone would like to contact us that would be great. We live in NH.

If there is anyone with a ds that is 8 I have a ds that will be 8 when we sail and it would be nice if he knew someone as well, as he will be alone in the kids clubs, he usually has his sister but she is getting older and doesn't want him around as much and they will be in different clubs.

So...summer vacations are over this year, school is about to resume (and I am a teacher) so it must be time to start constantly be DREAMING about next year's summer vacation.

We are a family of 5...DD 18, DS 16, DS 13 (at time of cruise). My kids have had a ball in the past getting to know other kids beforehand. And we did do Fish Extenders last year and had fun with that too. This year we will get the kids their OWN cabin! So exciting for all of us.

We will also be sailing with my sister and her family and my in-laws. We decided not to do back to back but rented an amazing house on the gulf before the cruise.

Have a great day everyone!

We're in! Its me, DH, DS 13 and DS 10...

Kids think its our first cruise, but we are booked on the 2 day out of Los Angeles and surprising the boys for Christmas..if we can keep it quiet :rotfl:

We are from San Francisco...our boys are thrilled to see other boys their ages!

Welcome Tink0720! I can't believe there will be another 13 yr old boy. I think they are going to take over the ship. :rotfl2:

My kids' email is dudendiva2 at gmail if anyone wants to contact them ahead of time. I think they would enjoy having some penpals before the cruise.

I also hope we can put together a fish extender exchange for this cruise. I already have plans to buy one from one of the talented moms on this board.

I finally got around to looking up our cabin # and deck......
We cruised with several people on this thread LAST summer and had a ball, especially with the fish extenders.
My name is Lucy (no age please, I am a Disney nut!):woohoo:
My DH is Bob (no age please, he also lives, breaths Disney):cool1:
Our DS will be 19 on this cruise, Tyler (also LOVES WDW)
I'm going to stop at this point, we have another son who would be 25 on this cruise.....IF he comes up with some of the fare, we may see him along - why do older boys still like going on vacation with us - at this point, i'm not listing him as a passenger, but things could change:rolleyes1

We are on deck 6.:cheer2:

This is approx. our 10th Disney cruise...love these ships. We are meeting with friends on Saturday night trying to talk them into their first cruise....what better experience than on a brand new Disney ship.

I'll be stopping by more often...I AM a talker (ask my DH!), especially when it comes to the subject of Disney.:lmao:

We have returned from our August double dip. The last time we will be on the Wonder :sad1: The Wonder has always been my favorite. But now we have the Dream to look forward to! We had a great double dip. Our 1st stop to CC was a little choppy. We had rain and high winds in the morning, all excursions were canceled. Noah was upset because I had booked his bottom fishing trip for our 2nd stop - now he was happy I had done that! The rain cleared up pretty early but it was windy most of the day. They wouldn't allow umbrellas to be put up because of the wind.

I did walk over and look at the cabanas. Personally - I don't get it. They are pretty small and a long way from anything. The family beach now extends to where the teen beach used to be (the teens have a small section left for themselves). A CM I talked to said the teen beach would be moving to the other side of the cabanas because the cabanas will be using the current teen beach. The cabanas are probably about 40+ yards from the beach and there's a lot of vegetation growing between the cabana and the beach. In fact one girl who was checking them out with her parents got stuck by some pricker type things. Each cabana has a hammock. There's a small shower in one inside corner. The CM said she has heard the price will start at $400/day. I'm sure some will pay it. There is a new lunch place down that way which is good because it's a hike. It's called Cookies 2.

Pelicans Plunge is nice and that 1st stop we set up shop at the beach by the plunge. It's all on the other side of the Lookout Bar. It was kind of quiet over there because many families don't want to walk that far down the beach.

Our 2nd stop to CC was perfect! Noah had a great time fishing and I enjoyed floating on my blue floatie!

The Wonder did have a "tween" group that we didn't know about prior to boarding. They call it the Out and About group. They had their own listing of activities on the navigator and Noah enjoyed some of the activities. They could also go into the Oceaneers Lab whenever they liked.

We had a great time and are now really looking forward to the Dream! Let me know if you have any questions.

Kelli

Kelli, thanks for the update. We have a cruise booked on the Wonder in addition to this double dip for next year. We look forward to seeing the changes at cc. Glad to hear your tween enjoyed his time on the Wonder.

Our Magic cruise last October also had a tween club. I don't remember what it was called right now. Megan loved it! All of her Disboard friends hung out together either in the club or around the ship. It was perfect! I know the Dream has a tween area too. Megan really likes the look of it, but we'll have to check the ages. She will already be 13 but I almost prefer her there instead of with 16 and 17 year olds! Sarah will be 11, so they would be together. But, then again, they may not want to be!

thanks:hug: for the update on Castaway Cay! My favorite stop of all times.
Our cruise will be the first time we ever did a double dip at Castaway Cay....exciting or WHAT!

Lucy

finally logged on and found my room number 2050 on deck 2 pretty close to the enchanted garden. and we have other exciting news. SIL is pregnant and due early April. She has been on fertility treatments for 6 months, so we were worried about timing for cruise, but baby will be at least 13 weeks old!!! Glad its them and not me:goodvibes Im just happy DS will be 4 this time and can go to kids club, and I can have some much needed mommy time. cant wait, cant wait, cant wait!!!!!!!! At least we have a WDW trip planned in March just me, DH, DS12,DS3, and DD17, to get us our Disney fix.

We've had a change of plans. We just found out there are no DVC reservations available for the cruise until at least September 2011. So, we are not going to be able take this cruise. I hope you have fun. We are reworking our vacation plans for next year now.
