As a parent of a disabled 2 year old child (until a month ago when he died unexpectedly) you have no idea how appreciated it is when someone does something for your child. It is very hard to manage in general and so many people are so self absorbed that they don't lend a hand or even hold a door in some cases! You learn to really respect people that do the right thing.

So sorry to hear of your lose. As a parent of a child with a life threatening , terminal illness. I live in fear of losing him tomorrow. You stand corrected...People are self sbsorbed today. This past trip we had people push my son's wheelchair aside so they could go first in park entrance MVMCP that happened. Ast member shook her head at the lady. Then said to me...."you can still smile", cast member said people where not very nice that night and were rude. Look what holiday they are celebrating. The true meaning was shining through. This woman didn't even kids...here poor husband hesitated walking in front of the wheelchair. He stalled and she yelled at him to come on. Clearly the man was embarassed.

Little things mean a lot. There are great and wonderful people out there. Thesee days they are just a little harder to find!

Just wanted to share a memory of a dream my daughter gave to someone. We were at the Christmas Party last year and had our curb side staked out about an hour before before the parade. Just when the parade started, a severely handicapped child pulled up behind us in his wheelchair. We really didn't notice him for the first few minutes, until we heard his mother speaking to him (we all turned) and saw her caressing him and telling him not to worry that Santa was on his way. Before I had a chance to blink, up jumps my daughter and tells his mother to scoot him right in (of course we all got up then) and gave the family our space. A couple minutes later, Santa is riding by us and looks down at the little boy, points directly at him and says " and a very, very Merry Christmas to you my little sweetheart" with such a caring and loving voice. (Now that had to be the REAL Santa!). That little boy had the most marvelous grin on his face. Of course by then, we are all wiping tears. His mother hugs my daughter and says "you don't understand what a wonderful gift you just gave my son". Now THAT was a magical moment! But what she didn't realize was that I too received some of that magic by seeing what my daughter did.

Now THAT'S the kind of person I want to vote for for President--loving, caring about others, and self-less. God bless your special girl. And, when she runs for President, post here so we can vote for her!!! :grouphug:
