Dream February 26, 2012 4-day cruise

OK guys. We only have a handful of people interested in the FE and meet and greet. I tried to post on the general board to let people know to come to this board and the moderator either deleted it or moved it. I am fine with it being a small group, but I don't want those who don't know about it to miss out because they don't know how to navigate to this discussion group. Any ideas on how to generate more interest?

I have no idea how to generate more interest...the only thing I can think of is if you see some one on the boards scheduled for our sailing respond to the post or PM them and tell them about us!

Our cruise must be in high demand though. Has anyone else gone to the DCL site lately and noticed that stateroom prices have gone up almost $500!!!?? An 11B inside stateroom is now more than I'm paying for our double porthole room! (We just HAD to book one of these "mini-suites" to see what it was like)

I hope we get more people on this meet. Our last one was such a blast because we chatted online for almost 2 years! We knew basically what everyone was packing and their plans...it was great!

Speaking of plans......I'll get the ball rolling and tell about ours!

We are celebrating my DH and DD's "Very Merry Un-Birthdays" on this cruise.

My DH's birthday is March 6th and my DD is March 7th, so it's an "Un-Birthday" because it not quite yet.....know what I mean. I know.....stupid, but I get a kick out of planning it! I have had our wonderful DISigners here on the boards create graphics for their "Un-Birthdays" and I plan on bringing decorations.

I have a REALLY cool idea for my FE gifts....I just need to know how much to buy. For those of you signed up for FE, you are going to LOVE it! (I hope )

I am so excited also. We have not told our DS yet. We are hoping to wait until Christmas and make it a big surprise. I have been scouring ebay and the disney store for special gifts.

This will be our 2nd cruise but our 1st time participating in a FE. I am sure it will be fun, fun, fun.

We are starting to talk about our plans for before and after the cruise. DS is a HUGE Lego fan and has just gotten into Harry Potter so I am sure both of those will be on our tour of FL. Anyone else have plans either before our after the cruise?

If your son is a Harry Potter fan then make it a point to see Hogwarts at Islands of Adventure. The detail is amazing and the ride is amazing! Also, the frozen butterbeer is TO DIE FOR!

We have plans both before and after the cruise. We are going to the Kennedy Space Center the day before. I went awhile ago as a teenager (ok....WAY more than "awhile") LOL But my DD has never been. Also, I have us booked for the Contemporary Resort after the cruise. They have no idea! We're just going to hop in the car after the cruise and I'll drive there instead of home We are only going for two days but add that to the cruise and that's a long time for my DD to be out of school! Her band director is already FREAKING over her being gone that long!

Does anyone else have teenagers going??? My DD is 14 and our last cruise she met a girl in our DIS meet and they became attached to the hip.

We're planning on going to Tampa for Yankees spring training for a couple of days before the cruise. DS is sooo excited!!
We'll probably do disney world for a couple of days after the cruise. We've thought about SeaWorld but we just can't seem to go to Florida without going to Disney World. Buzz Lightyear space ranger and space mountain are calling our names.
DS and DD are also huge Star Wars fans and want to check out the new Star Wars ride at Hollywood studios.


Anyone planning on doing any excursions on this cruise?
Last cruise we did the Andastra Gardens. DH didn't care for the tour of Nassau, but the zoo was cute.

We'll probably just stay on the boat this time. Can't wait !!!!

Very cute idea . We'll also be celebrating some birthdays on this cruise except DD and DS are not until April 5th. It will be fun though to celebrate early

We also went to see Harry Potter at Universal Studios last year. It was alot of fun. The kids really enjoyed it. I hear that Legoland is also opening soon.
Looks really cool. DS is also a big lego fan. One of his favorite places at disney world is the lego store.

We roamed around Nassau last time, but we are going to stay on the boat this time. Last time was our first cruise and we had that mentality of "WE HAVE TO DO IT ALL!" Now I just want to sleep in and go to the spa! LOL

Southwest has opened up their system for booking in February. Just booked 4 tickets with points! Now just need to save up some more points for two more. Feels like we're actually going now

We would also like to keep the FE exchange going if possible. There's still 7 months until we cruise. Last cruise we only had about 7 families and it worked out fine.

I will defer to the experts. If a few is worth it then we'll continue. Maybe I can get some of my family traveling with us to get into the spirit as well. So far they have been very un-interested. For those who have signed up, I will send the list out by this weekend. Busy workweek :-(

I will also post a request on the main board and ask the moderator not to move it here. I saw someone else do that and it seemed to generate some interest.

I am a long-time lurker, but 1st time poster!

We sailed on the Magic in 2009 and have NEVER had a better vacation. It was AMAZING! We have also cruised 3 other cruise lines and will never ever ever go back on anything but DCL!!!

We are very excited about cruisin' the Dream with y'all in February. We are also doing 3 nights in WDW before the cruise. My husband and I are bringing our DD4 (she LOVED the Magic but this will be her 1st time to the park) and our 20-month-old DS. Also, my parents are coming too. We had the same traveling group in 2009 (minus the 20-month-old, of course).

I always regretted not joining the group for the previous cruise and will admit to being envious when I passed the cute FE's in the hall. So I promised myself I would join up this time around. We would definitely be interested in the FE. I know I saw a pattern to make them (no sew) a while back...has that been shared on this thread? If not, no worries, I can search back and try to find it. Goodness knows, I don't need to try sewing. Please let me know who I need to send my info to.
