Dream/Fantasy Stateroom 7690 or 10664?

I think I have narrowed our stateroom down to these two rooms! From what I can tell both have LARGE balconies. 10664 is bigger, and includes the 2 loungers in addition to the chairs. However, it appears to have negative reviews from being under deck 11 where the chairs are heard being moved in the am and pm. The pictures of the balcony are huge.

Room 7690, has a large balcony, but not as huge as 10664 when I look at pictures of room 6690. But I can't for the life of me find any pictures of 7690. Anyone have any pictures and/or recommendations of which to choose?

I'll let you know after Sept of next year :) We chose 7690 - mainly because we thought it would be quieter - but those loungers on 10664 would be nice !!! Here is a trip report with some pics: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2802905&page=2

also, I found a picture on another website :)

Thanks! That's the info I was looking for! I really need to make a decision soon as I have 7690 booked, but can't wait until next year or 10664 will be booked:rotfl:

Would still love to hear your opinion after you cruise. Thanks again, I'd been searching everywhere for those pictures and couldn't find them anywhere!!

Being on deck 10 and Cabanas just above you, you have some issues to consider. Debris, people looking down on you, power wash rain, noise from Cabanas.
Advantages; incredible, easy access to food and beverage, incredible access to food and ice cream. Higher view for what it's worth, people to talk to above you once, five decks of people to look down on, no flag issues.

Deck 7; consider the flag, can be noisy, may block view somewhat, etc. More stairs to food and ice cream, only two decks below to view, may have to talk to neighbors more.
I'm sure there is more on both sides. It seems to me I'd pick 10 only because I like food and stay up late. :lmao:

Great comments and I totally agree!

Well, I just chose 7690 for 2013. Flag noise, if that, more than vision blocking, and only in port. Lower deck to help offset some sway when hauling. I did not chose Deck 10 because of the noise from Cabanas, etc., and possible looky-loos and debris. But as others mentioned pros and cons to both and they are different for different people.:thumbsup2

BBQMommy - Excellent, have a wonderful time. Your on the ship is what counts. All this noise we Diser's bark about at times I feel impedes the relaxed atmosphere that should prevail. One of the best cruise experiences we had was one where we were clueless about. We showed up 30 minutes prior to departure and had a blast without any research.:lmao: Newbies come here and read all these specific threads/details and get all freaked out and get caught up in this Q & A . I'm not sure it's right for all. I can see how some may feel they are missing something, some tip, some ressie, some event, cabin local, specific servers, oh my! But with half the population on Prozac, these boards are dangerous.

Relax. Show up on time. Enjoy.

So BBQMommy, I'm just curious, did you wait for input/reply's here on these boards before you decided on a deck? Did Diser's help you decide in these few posts in this thread? Did you make this commitment within this 4 hours? Or had you known all along what you wanted and just needed another view? I'm just curious as how folks make their commitments.
I could be out of line even asking? Don't feel you have to reply.
I find it fascinating how folks are stuck, come here, read a few threads and are set.
Don't get me wrong , I did the same, and I believe it was the right decision.
Well, except now I owe thousands because of the Diser's. :rotfl2:

Nope. I knew we wanted a verandah. Husband smokes :sad2: and is a happier husband if he does not have to walk too far for his first of the day.

We have only done 1 cruise, the 11 day Christmas Magic last year and had a Cat 7 Nav Verandah towards the back of the ship, port side. We liked the mid level rear location (quiet, near kids club, near stairs and often deserted elevator). I picked 7690 when I made the hold opening day. We are in a similar location for our 2012 Fantasy cruise, 6188.

When the ship is moving with these far aft cabins husband's smoke should be pulled away from the ship, not into the adjoining cabin(s). I also really liked the larger size verandah and the views for the ports. On our Magic cruise we used the verandah so much. I'd go get a big tray of breakfast food and we would eat out there every morning. :cloud9:

Did Diser's help you decide in these few posts in this thread? No, but confirmation is always a good thing. :thumbsup2

Did you make this commitment within this 4 hours? No, already done.

Or had you known all along what you wanted and just needed another view?
:cool1:

The DISBoards had really helped prepare me for the first cruise on the Magic. Now venturing (WAY) in to the future with reservations on the Fantasy and Dream, it is doing the same. I think I have a basic idea for the new ships, but they are different beasts.

See this is why I ask for comments/input. I did not hear the issue with debris or the power wash rain, but that definitely makes sense. After seeing the you tube video of cabin 6690, I am concerned about the flag/noise when in port, we plan on bein on excursions those days but want to be able to enjoy the balcony before/after the excursions.

Had I not checked these boards, I would have no clue as the the flag issue; or the power wash/chair noise issues.

I think everyone needs to use these boards to get information that you wouldn't normally have access to and make your own informed decisions from there. I didn't ask the question to upset anyone on how they make their decisions. I just know both of these rooms are open, and I need to know information before I settle in on which room to choose.

With that said, I appreciate everyone's input. We haven't been on the dream yet, only on the Wonder, twice.

If anyone else has pros/cons, let me know. Thanks!!!

We were given 10662 earlier this week from a GTY status. I was totally unaware of the power wash rain issue. I don't plan on spending the times when I assume they will be cleaning out on the verandah. We shall see.

Not that it matters, but after some research I decided to switch from deck 10 to deck 7 simply because I didn't like the overhang on the verandah. I feel that if I have outside space, I want to feel like I am outside - enjoying the sun, etc. The overhang from deck 11 seemed as if the verandah would feel "enclosed" and was not something I would enjoy. Good Luck choosing.

Hmmm do tell, I haven't heard about that yet?

I'll try to explain the best I can...I found pics somewhere on here and can't find them now to post the link. Hopefully someone else will post them for you. Deck 11 is where the pool and spa is so the deck is wider and juts out about 3 feet or so above deck 10 which causes an overhang above the deck 10 verandahs. From the pictures I saw and what I read it obstructs the view of the fireworks as well as shading the verandah during the entire cruise. I guess the upside is if there is rain, you would still be able to enjoy the verandah because of the overhang. :confused3

We stayed in 7192, the equivalent room, and we loved it!! Never even noticed the flag, and the verandah was a very nice size. We have it booked again for 2013.

We too were in 7192. Our group had the 3 aft rooms: 7192/7194/7690. The center (7194) was larger, including the huge balcony. We were very happy with 7192...as were our inlaws with 7690. Never noticed the flag either. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Sweet! That is what I was hoping to hear. Thank you :cutie:

We had a choice between 7690 and lots on deck 10 aft. After reading about noise from deck 11 & how they rinse down the deck 11 every morning I thought I'd appreciate the quiet & dry balcony more than extra balcony space. I'm not a light sleeper but I do like to sit on the balcony with my coffee. If I can't do that, it's hardly worth having it at all.

Exactly- 10162, 10160, 10158, 10658 and 10664 were all available but I booked 7690. Now hearing everything here, I will stick with 7690. The weird thing is that on the DCL site and when I called none of the rooms were available, but when I went to change the reservation online I could see the rooms. Anyway, it looks like these are the answers I need/want and help me solidify my decision to go with 7690!!!!:cool1:
