I don't know if they've put more in, but several years back the umbrellas stopped at Cabana 10.

Yes but you can call your cabana host and they will run you there in a golf cart. I just didn't like how they don't really face the water.

That's if your cabana host gets your page. We've paged our cabana host on four different occasions. Three of those occasions found us still waiting for the host 20 minutes later, so we just walked to the bathrooms.

They look so spartan compared to the older ones with more vegetation. Can't wait to see everything grow up around them. That's part of why I love the cabanas. I have a passion for tropical vegetation.

You are absolutely right. Even the vegetation on the front of these new Cabanas are so sparse! (Not to mention the water in front of them are rocky and shallow) more like a tidal pool I think.

Are the cabana hosts at Serenity Bay the same concierge hosts servicing the family beach cabanas? This may have something to do with the level of service out there. They're going to have to assign at least a couple more CM's to service these areas IMO. There are too many units now.

Nope. I'd never seen our hosts before, and the second host didn't really even seem to know what he was doing.

this is concerning, but I'm not entirely surprised. We were non-concierge our 1st cabana and we happened to be on the family beach. We were told that only 2 cabanas out of 17 were occupied by non-concierge staterooms. I didn't think to inquire about Serenity Bay.

Our hosts were the Concierge Team CM's who were assigned to the entire area. They had a tendency to concentrate their efforts on their concierge guests and we didn't fully connect with them. In fact we only buzzed them once - for a ride back to the tram area when we were leaving and they dispatched a cart right away. We did tip them cash - but delivered it to them in person later. In hindsight, we probably didn't really need to.

fast forward to our 2nd cabana experience as concierge guests. Since we were within walking distance to the facilities, we only buzzed them for a couple rounds of drinks and again for a ride back to the tram station. But this was our Concierge Team servicing us and we definitely felt a difference in the level of service and interaction mainly because we knew them so well being our hosts on the ship.

I know Andy was running around like crazy that day trying to keep up with everyone. they know who's in which cabana so I'm wondering if they prioritized who they responded to when buzzed.

There really should be a bigger team for this.

Is this the video you posted from 2013? or more recent.

here's a picture from Sept 2013. (I can't believe we didn't cruise last year but apparently not!)
I'm standing in front of cabana #4. It still looks like the umbrellas are stopping in front of 10.

look what i just found! walkthrough of cabana 17 as of THIS MONTH! There are now umbrellas all the way down to the new ones!
