Dream Concierge

I chose #17 (or highest # possible on family beach) because we don't do crowds well lol. You can call for your cabana host and they will come get you in a golf cart and take you to restrooms or cookies to get food and they will bring you back so you may eat in the cabana. The only thing I'm worried about is low tide, as I've seen some pics and videos of how much water the higher cabanas lose in front of their cabanas when it goes out. Can anyone elaborate on that?

17 is no longer the highest #. They've added 4 more cabanas.

Thank you very much Poison Ivy! Was it just you and your dh? It will be my mom and I, leaving my family at home and wanted to go to SB but the cabanas on the family beach look a lot more desirable with less space to the beach and water. Is that correct?

Thanks so much!

We actually had a group of 6 back in 2011, including my parents which is the main reason I wanted the cabana. We've since had groups of 7 and 9. Each time we've cruised with them I've reserved one. The first time we were silver CC non-concierge and snagged #9. I was thrilled and felt really lucky - same as the other posters who have this cabana felt. The second time we were concierge level and were able to put in a request. We chose #4.

I don't know how old you mother is, but my parents are in their mid 70's. they don't need the HA options but greatly benefit from the amenities of a cabana. whether it be the shade and ceiling fan to cool off or the plush cushion loungers to nap in, or the security, privacy and stocked supplies at their convenience along with the on site staff services. It's been a worthwhile expense.

We're cruising again this Oct and if they accompany us, we plan to reserve one again. But when I've cruised with just my DH, we did not rent one. We weren't concierge and the only thing left for a Silver CC was usually on Serenity Beach. We declined based on the time of year and for a lot of the reasons you are weighing. It really does depend on when you cruise. I found without a cabana, we left CC much earlier than on the trips we had one.

Hi. Enjoy!

How did you know you wanted cabana no. 9? Didnyou have a map and choose it? From looking at the pictures from Serenity Bay and what I saw on New Years Day on CC, Im wondering if Pelican Bay cabanas may be a better choice but would like one furtherst from the rope off.

Thank you.

Hi! I Googled, YouTubed & trolled Disboards looking for every description & pic of each Cabana I could find! There are also maps posted on the boards (even within THIS thread) so you can get an idea of island/beach layout & cabana locations on both SB & FB. You can also start a new thread and get input from other posters. Cabana #9 is on the FB (although DH & I may try to 'sneak' over to SB at some point…just to check it out…). We wanted something 'in between': a quiet location but close to rest rooms, Cookies, etc. Cabana #9 looked like the nicest choice so we booked it. Hope this helps…

Happy Cruising!! :sail:

Yes but when I chose it, 18-21 weren't available to be chosen and from the pics I didn't like the way 18-20 don't face the water. Therefore I chose 17 but was given 15

I actually have a 360* interactive picture of the first cabana at Serenity Bay that you can click and drag to look around if anybody wants to see the link.

If you could post the link to this thread, that would be fantastic! :thanks:

would love to see it. Did you happen to walk down the ramp toward the beach in any video or photos. There seem to be a lack of pictures showing the beach access area from that vantage point.

Thanks for the pics of cabana #4, we have it twice on a b2b in April.

I have had 4 and 5 before great location nice facilities still private though, short walk to the sea short walk to cookies two and the shops, I have an online blog with photos but not allowed to post links to it.

What was the weather like in Nov. that's when we are sailing. We live in Tampa, Florida so I am assuming similar to that just a bit warmer

It was windy (a front pushed through just as we were leaving PC) and a bit chilly out of the sun the first day, but nothing we couldn't deal with. The first day (this was a Double Dip) the water was crazy rough. You could see it breaking over the top of the breakwater that shelters part of SB on the NW corner of the island. A lot of the excursions were canceled. The second day was glorious except for a quick rise and drop in wind and a brief microshower.

You're welcome.
Here's a few more of what I have of Cabana #4.

We were reserved for a pty of 7 adults on this day, but I don't think my son was really around.

(the blue sack is complimentary snorkel gear my DH picked up. We didn't have to return it though, the hosts took care of that for us)

There's a corner cushioned chair shown on the right which also has foot rest section moved inside. also two full sectional lounge chairs on the "back porch".

the loungers look like this.

These interior shots are what I call "the lived in look".
Shows us enjoying it in motion (including my dad in his favorite spot on a cushioned lounger)
I took so many of #9 untouched I guess I never did the same for our second time around in #4.

Interior included: 1 Couch; 2 Chairs and 3 tables. Also you'll notice the trashcan moved between these 2 photos.

That green curtain on the left is the changing area.

Here's the footrest we moved inside.

A bucket of beach toys is included. (sitting right by stair railing here)

our beach spot. The sand is perfect here.

When we initially had #9 I couldn't walk into the water without needing something on my feet. (which of course we didn't bring with us) That was in May 2011. There were a lot of small rocks and broken shells with jagged edges in the shallow water that day.
It felt like a land mine when wading in the water and was too dangerous for my parents.

I was hoping this was an isolated incident given the tides, etc. but wanted to try out a section nearer to the family beach to compare the two.
Great section of beach here. No rock or shell hazards at all in Sept. 2013.

My mother enjoying a lounger in front of our cabana.

So far we've sailed concierge just to get the giant cabins. There is my sister and her two teenage daughters and me and my teenage son; 5 adult-sized people. If we get connecting cabins (or hotel rooms), we tend to not spend time together. My son and I hole up in one room and them in the other. Unless we're getting a time-share condo, it usually costs 5x as much to have a single (large enough so we don't kill each other) space. Its worth it to us because we enjoy our vacation so much more. I think when we do a European cruise, only my sister and I will go and we'll go "regular".

We wanted to get a cabana that wasn't too terribly far from the bathrooms but is beyond the umbrellas so that there aren't people congregated in front of us. #6 perhaps?

The CC maps show that the umbrellas don't go all the way down the beach. Is this accurate?
