Dream cabin 12524 and smoking

I thought smoking was not allowed in the rooms and limited to a smoking area in the back of the ship. If I smelled smoke from another verandah, I'd be on the phone to security.
From another balcony then yes you should definitely report it. The issue here is that some of the balconies are close enough to the public smoking area that you can smell it.

People may hate me, but is it time to just ban smoking outright? It seems we smell it on our verandah on a somewhat frequent basis and on other parts of the ship. Can smokers ger their fix from vaping for a week? I'm a bit ignorant on the subject, but the smell of traditional cigarettes really bothers me.
I get it, but at the end of the day, smoking is still legal, so those of us who smoke shouldn't be treated as if we are committing some sort of crime against humanity. However, I do agree that the rules of not smoking on the verandahs should be followed, due to the proximity to other guests who may not smoke.

Edited to add - if smoking is completely banned on board, I bet the amount of smoking on balconies will increase. People who are indeed addicted, will not be able to quit cold turkey to be on a ship 24/7 and not smoke.

Our family does not smoke and tries to avoid being around those who do. Our oldest is allergic to cigarette smoke. She can tolerate it in very small doses, but too much and she experiences breathing difficulties. So for us having someone smoke on their balcony and have it drift into our space isn't ideal, and I can sympathize with those who would prefer that the ship be smoke free. Sadly, as ChicosWife said, people will resort to smoking on their balconies. They already do this in resort rooms at WDW and DL.

Maybe it's psychological for some, but not for me. I smoke cigarettes because I enjoy them. I can honestly take it or leave it, so the nicotine "fix" isn't an issue for me. Vaping would not be as enjoyable for me. The cruise should be enjoyable for adults, as well as the kids and the smoking areas are high, on the back of the ship. If someone is worried about smoke somehow wafting to their balcony from Currents, then my suggestion would be to get a stateroom in the front or center of the ship.
Concierge is under Currents (which is the category my family chose to sail). It’s not easy just to pick a stateroom unless I pick the Royal Suites… but thanks for your input.

As an asthmatic I absolutely agree. Had to leave Keys one day last week on the Magic as the smell was triggering my asthma.
What happened? Keys is an enclosed space and not near a smoking/vaping area.

It was a whole party who had clearly just come from smoking and the smoke smell surrounding them made it impossible to sit in there. (No empty seats elsewhere.)
