Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

I promised my daughter we would be swimming with dolphins - which is supposed to add more miracles to Disney miracles, for children living with autism. So this is why I wanted to land in Nassau.

Everything I read up to now direct us to Nassau instead of other places, when it comes to swim with the dolphins. Does any of you have a different opinion or experience? Because if we could stay on the boat, (as our Mamie64 will, since she doesn't want to swim with the dolphins with us), we would of course, enjoy the Aquaduc on shorter (if possible) lines.

yes, i have heard that the dolphins have a remarkable relationship with people who have special needs. this is truely amazing. i think it is fantastic that you are able to take her there. i don't really want to go onto nassau either but my husband wants to see it. im with you all when you want to stay on the ship and play. i hear you have more actual dolphin time in places such as nassau, mexico, etc. as oppossed to the US

We are planning on getting off the ship for a little bit in the moring and then we will be back on. We did this last time and it worked out great. We just got off did some walking and shopping. We were back on in time for a late lunch. It was great to show the kids how different areas of the world are. So we too will be hitting the aqua duck that day and chilling by the pool before it gets to crowed.

So I woke up today to a 70 degree day....Ok I should tell you I hate winter and this is just letting me know that it is on the way. So I have the start planning bug. I am so ready for my get away. As I am sure all of you....oh and I am not ready for winter.

I am must say I love the heat and that is why I love summer. Fall is a fun time of year but this is putting us closer to winter . But I guess that also means that this puts us closer to next may. But I have to tell you all that my kids are already talking x-mas and wanting to write to santa which makes the weather totally worth it. Just for those of you that do not know my kids are getting the trip from santa I am so ready to tell them. So if on that morning you hear screams arcossed the land and maybe feel some minor land movement....don't worry it is not an earthquake it is my boys finding out they are going to Disney then on the new ship!!! I guess I can start working on the goods I need to pick up to tell them they are going. I want it to be a wow moment.

We're expecting a record high in South Carolina today - 100 degress. Very unusual for early Sept. I'm with you, I hate winter also. However I'm sure we have much milder winters in South Carolina as compared with Illinois.

So I guess that by booking in November 2009, we did a good thing! (even though we are in a veranda stateroom.)

Also, by booking early, you're getting a better price. The stateroom I booked in November (veranda also) has increased in price by almost $300.

We booked early and I know we saved a few hundred by doing it that way. I know we can can hit 300 posts so lets just keep in touch this weekend.

But I find you all so funny with your problems with winter, and temperature!

This morning, the forecast said 19C (68F) here in Northern Ontario. But it's already 23C (73F). We had a record breaking summer with the number of days over 30C (86F) with the highest peak at 37,9C (100F) - naturally to all these numbers you have to add humidex - and the lack of water.

But, I LOVE WINTER! And I LOVE, WHITE XMAS! And I LOVE SNOWMOBILING! (Sorry, no happy face!) So let me boost you all up , when in the middle of January, you guys from the South will have the blues.

(And by the way, no, I don't go out in formal dresses with my Sorrels! - very warm but ugly looking winter boots. But I do, use the Sorrels for sledding.)

Also remember that pixie dust very often falls like snow.....

O.K., enough of that,

trust me, i'm not complaining about the heat, just the fact that i probably have to get new central air!!! i'd prefer scorchers anyday over the New Brunswick Canada winters i endured for 19 years!!!!! BTW...loved NB...my heart is still there and i look forward to the day i move back!

We are so ready to sail....I have a 7 and a 9 year olds sailing with us. I can not wait to tell them. On a side note this weekend is the start of college football and I must say I am looking forward for football to start. I just wish it was warmer. My boys both play and have games today. I am thinking I might need a blanket for these games. Hope everyone as a safe long weekend. And I am looking for post 300.

That's great

I'm a big football fan, mostly college. My team is the USC Gamecocks (that's Univeristy of South Carolina). There's a big rivalry in our state between USC fans and Clemson fans.

how exciting!!! i remember those days with not enough time because everything revolved around their schedules. enjoy these days...they go by too fast. i never regret all the driving around and chaperoning i did...wonderful memories always to be cherished.
