Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

Just found this:
If someone is wearing a lime green mickey head, it usually identifies them as someone who uses these disboards. Very often we get them from Home Depot's paint department, and laminate them and hang them from our backpacks purses, camera bags etc. Then, If we see someone else with one, we know they are on the Dis.

so it is really getting hard keeping this from the kids....I almost slipped today. I didn't say it but came so close. My sister and her family are at wdw right now they go 3 times a year. My son asked me why we can't go to Disney...and started to cry when I told him the vacation money jar is not full yet. Broke my heart. But I am holding strong and thinking I only have 2 more months and their dream will come true. So when you feel the earth move you will know it is us.

Well at the end of this week the Dream will be in the Water. On Oct 30th the Dream will be in the water with the last touches to be finished. The inside is just about complete. It you check www.meyerwerft.com you can see the last webcam shot. I don't think we will see anymore photos of it until it gets to port. Since it will be out at the dock. I guess that is sad on one hand but great on the other.

Today we are 1 month and 4 weeks away from telling the kids they are getting to sail on the Dream..... I can not wait to tell them and I am so ready to tell them I might pop.

well I have not spilled the beans yet...but I have to share with you all I am getting these big castle cardboard boxes and am going to wrap them up and fill them with balloons...I think it will be great. Just over 1 month to wait. I will keep you post xmas evening on the kids had to say. I am sure you might all hear it.

I THINK I WILL CLOSE THE SIGN UP FOR FISH EXTENDERS ON APRIL 1. SOME PEOPLE ARE MAKING CUSTOMIZED ITEMS AND IT WILL ALSO GIVE EVERYONE A CHANCE TO SHOP AND GET THEIR THINGS READY. I THINK WITH OUR GROUP NOT BEING SO BIG, WE DON'T HAVE TO SPLIT IT. I ALSO THINK WE CAN DELIVER THEM WHENEVER WE WANT. NO RULES AS FAR AS WHAT THEY ARE...JUST HAVE FUN WITH IT! PM ME WITH ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. I ALSO THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK WITH GUEST SERVICES ON THE SHIP TO MAKE SURE NO ONE WAS UGRADED (PIXIE DUST)!! SOME SUGGESTIONS I DID GET WERE TO ATTACH THE EXTENDER SINCE THEY HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO BE "PERMANENTLY BORROWED". CHECK YOUR NAME AND THE SPELLING TO BE SURE IT IS CORRECT ON THE LIST I HAVE PROVIDED. I THINK SOMEONE IS GOING TO MAKE A LIST OF LAST NAMES AND LINK IT ON HERE IN CASE ANYONE NEEDS LAST NAMES. TIME IS CLOSING IN AND IT IS GETTING REALLY EXCITING.


If there are any corrections, please let me know, so I can correct. I will send out more info closer to our departure date. See ya all soon! Remember, any suggestions to make this run smoother are much appreciated.

So today I found a huge castle box....I was thinking of getting it and using to tell the boys about Disney and the Cruise....but my husband rolled his eyes...My thinking what a better way to tell the kids then with a castle. He is not for pay for a huge castle box. So I am asking all of you. What do you think?

i'm kind of with your husband on this one...maybe girls would enjoy the castle box...castle--princesses, etc. maybe you can put a stuffed mickey, some disney T shirts, disney dollars, a photo of the ship, hotel, a calendar page with the dates circled, etc in a box for both of them to open and i'm sure it won't take long for them to figure it out!!! If you want a special box, you probably can find one that looks like a pirate chest and you can even put eye patches, etc in it for the pirate party!!! hey, i think i'll do this for Logan!!!

I like the chest idea...I might have to look into that...The only thing is we did do something like that last time. But I am going to look into. I want it to be a big box or bigger. The past few years they have not really had a a xmas at all. So this is going to be the 1st big in 4 years. That is why I want to make this a real big deal for them. Heck I also want to have fun with it too. But I am going to keep looking.

Well, you can use that link to navigate to that post. It's useful since it can get buried and is a pain to search among pages and pages of threads. But that's all it does...direct people. You can edit that post whether you use my link to find it or search for it yourself.

Yes it is great to see it out in the water...I think the horn sounded great. I can not wait to hear it in person.

But this also just makes it feel more real...I guess it is time to get the check book out and start paying DCL OFF....I guess in a month and One day I can say we are paid in full. But I hate giving up money. But this is for a great reason and I can not wait to set sail....I am sick with a cold right now so I am going to plan our trip while I sit on the couch doing nothing and the kids go trick or treating....Happy holloween everyone.
