DREAM 5-night June 21 2011

jazzykirl at least they were thinking on a "lower" scale. For instance, if they thought they were getting a 7 night on a disney cruise and it was really for a weekend at Great Wolf, then they might be a bit disappointed! My ds is 20 and as I mentioned he won't be with us. He started cruising on DCL in 2003 and has loved cruising as well.

We're taking our band and choir high school to a competition in the spring at Kings Island. We'll stay at Great Wolf. We had a blast 2 years ago. Are you anywhere close to Columbus?

Howdy! We'll be on this cruise with you all! My DH and I, and our two little boys, will be 9 and 6 just barely! They have June bdays, this is their Bday surprise.. DH's BDay is June too, he doesn't think a big fat cruise bill is much of a bday gift, but he is looking forward to it!

June will be here before we know it! I can't wait to go to CCay twice!!! :thumbsup2

The cruise is a gift - the bill is just a technicality! I love to cruise so much, I took a job JUST to pay for our DCL cruises.:laughing:

Happy New Years everyone!party:

I haven't been on at all in the past few months. :guilty: Another cruise, then school started (I'm a music/band director and fall and Christmas tend to be really busy) and then I just remodeled the kitchen. That's all done so I have time to play!!

I am on the facebook page already. Do you think most people will chat here or there? It is nice to have a place to post pictures on facebook and not here, which has never stopped me in the past!! It makes it so much easier to spot people on board. We've always done the lime green thing, but that doesn't always work. There was this gal in a bright lime green dress and I was sure she must be "one of us". :woohoo: Needless to say, she thought I was crazy.:confused3

I've still got to get the hotel for before the cruise, flights and transfers. Of course the obvious, excursions and Palo will have to wait a bit!:lovestruc

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. :jumping1: And perhaps even find some tablemates. :scared: No not really scared, but it is alot more fun when you have something in common.

Just to review :teacher: It is only my dh and myself. Our college son will be co-oping this summer:woohoo: which is great, but also a bit sad since he won't be home at all either.:sad1:

We love to cruise:dance3: and if you can't tell, I love my smilies! :woohoo:

On our last cruise, we had everyone go to Home Depot and get the Lime Green Mickey paint chips, put them back to back, write their DIS name on the heads and laminate. Then we punched holes, looped rubberbands through the holes and used them on luggage tags. They were easy to spot at the terminal on carry-ons and know who was in the group and at disembarkation.

Musicgirl I am on the East side of Columbus in Pickerington. Where are you? We love the Great Wolf Lodge. We usually get season passes for Cedar Point and King's Island.

My youngest son was in the band until high school. He is a very good x country runner, so he chose to concentrate on his running. I was a little sad, since I was in the band and have great memories.

We just booked yesterday! It will be me, DH, DS (17), DS (15), DS (12), DD (9), DS (6), and DS (4). This will be our second Disney Cruise. Our first one was the Thanksgiving 2008 double dip which we took with our friends who are traveling with us again. They have a DS (17), DS (15), DD (13), and DS (10).

Believe it or not, we were each able to get two connecting verandah cabins right by each other.:woohoo:

First time cruisers joining us will be my SIL, her DH, their DDs (9 and 7).

We live near Upper Arlington. It is basically on one side of the road is Columbus and the other side of the road is Arlington. We teach at DeSales.

Too bad about the band....obviously our passion. Pickerington always has such a great music program. You never know, he might find his way back.

Great luck on the booking!!!

So, when is everyone headed to Florida? We are spending 2 nights near the port. Since this is a shorter trip, we thought we would spend some extra time hanging out. :beach:

It will be hard going from 7,7,9,7 and the last was another 9 night cruise. But we are excited to go on the new ship with 2 stops at CC. It will also mean less packing and luggage!

Right now we have our air and land transportation through Disney, so we will be flying in that day. My DH likes the convenience of checking in our lugguage at the airport and then waiting till it "magically" appears at our State Room. :)

I would like to go down early or stay a little afterwards.
Musicgirl are you flying southwest out of Columbus?

Welcome aboard Keam:welcome: I have a DS who is 17 too. I imagine they will run into each other in the teen area.

We probably will take southwest. I like not having to pay for my luggage!!

I have been keeping my eye om airfare. I am about 15 mims from DFW airport so we are used to having a wide choice of flights. We have been flying to MCO every year at least once to go to WDW or DCL but the selection and prices are the worst ever.
Southwest is more expensive than American at this point and although you don't have to pay for bags, we have this stupid Wright Amendment which means Southwest cannot make nonstop flights outside the neighboring states.
I do have our hotel- Residence Inn- booked and still checking on car rental deals.

We are at the Best Western Ocean Beach. 2 nights here equal 1 night in a hotel in NYC!!!! We've cruised out of NYC the last 3 cruises, so the cheaper hotel rates are nice.

I'm spoiled, we live an hour away from the port. :) I feel your pain on airfare though, whenever we want to fly someplace, it's just as expensive to fly AWAY from Orlando as it is to get here! :lmao:

What is the Wright Ammendment?

This sounds like a great idea!!!! :thumbsup2

I have checked into flights & looks like we are going to be paying about $250 more than what I paid for flights to orlando last December. We were thinking about spending a day at WDW beforehand, but to add an extra date to the flights it was $400 more! So we are just going to be flying down on Monday 6/19 and staying at the Raddisson. I'm going to book the Raddisson today (hopefully!). :cool1:

Just a reminder & to let all our our new sailors know, we have a FB page too - you can contact me on FB (Robin Hart Carroll) or look for the Motley Cruise group and request to join :thumbsup2

We are SUPER  excited about this cruise!!!

Robin
