Dreading setting up a MDE account

DVC member here with a January trip coming up. I've seen a number of threads with DVC members talking about numerous headaches with MDE. So I'm dreading joining the masses but figured I should go ahead and create my MDE account before making any ADRs.

Am I correct that it will make the process smoother if I use the same user name and password as what I use to log into the DVC member website?

If so, should my DVC reservation show up on my MDE automatically or do I have to add it? I don't have any tickets to link yet. I'll be buying a DVC rate AP when I arrive.

I'm hoping in the long run there is an up side to having a MDE account, but I'm not clear yet on what that should be.

You user names/logins should always be the same for all Disney accounts, even ABC, ESPN, all Disney companies.

You will still attach your reservations and admission media to your MDE account.

My guess is that your reservation will not automatically appear; you'll probably have to add it.

Some people have had problems with their APs. I'd look for threads on that.
