I think I read somewhere that they offer drawing or animation classes on board where they teach you how to draw the characters. Is this accurate? If so, is it for kids or adults?
Hopping in here…I really hope this is true! My DD is devastated that they closed the Animation Academy at DHS. Now she can do her drawing on the Dream!
The have family classes, adult classes, and, they do it in the Club and/or the Lab. So, there should be plenty of opportunities. I am the worst artist in my family and even mine didn't turn out too badly!
Just check the Navigator each day and it should be easy to find. I went a few times on my first cruise and was able to draw Pluto, Goofy and Jiminy Cricket! It is a lot of fun for all ages. Well, drawing ages... I haven't been since I had my 3yo (who was 18 mos at the time of our last cruise).
We did this class on the dream 3 weeks ago. It was kids and adults. They don't tell you what character you are drawing. Well, they asked the group if we'd rather know or be surprised. The group majority was surprised. We ended up drawing Daisy Duck.
In the Navigator, it is written as "Animation Class" with the location under it. Sometimes, they will list the character to be drawn during the class. It will be listed under "Fun for All Ages" if it is a family class and under "Adults" for the adults.
My husband and I did did one of these while DD was in the kids club. it was almost all adults in there. I think it was called Art of Animation in the Navigator. We did it another time when she joined us. I think we drew Mickey, Minnie and Donald.
I believe it is called the Art of Animation as the previous poster said. There were children and adults in there when we did it and it was a lot of fun! We drew a couple of different characters and they walked you through the steps for forming each character.
We enjoyed this so much we went back a second time. I wish I had done it at the start of the cruise because we had only participated in the last two for the cruise.
No more character drawing at DHS???
I posted a thread...I wish there were more art/craft things to do on board but they seem severely lacking in that area...which for a company built on creativity and imagination is a shame...
We were just on the 4night dream a few weeks ago. The animation class was offered a couple of times in the Edge for the Tweens (DD and DS did this) and it was also offered as a family activity, which we did. It was fun. We really enjoyed the towel animal making class too!
