Do the dragons still "duel"? I went last August right after the incident with someone claiming they were hit with a penny and was told that the coasters would not be running at the same time during our trip. Is this still the case? I hope not because I feel this greatly detracts from the overall feel.

Thanks for the information!

They don't duel and won't ever again. Someone lost an eye and another rider was injured when something was thrown or came loose from riders in the other train.

Aw that is very disappointing to hear, but I guess safety is always first! Thank you so much for the information!

It makes me mad when people are told no loose articles on such rides and they end up riding with cell phones and cameras in their pockets...

All they really need to do is install netting or even a plexiglass window where the two coasters meet. Someone is just as easily hit by something dropped by someone in the same car they are on.

Honestly, I don't believe they were ever sure if it was from the other coaster or someone throwing/shooting something from the ground. I had read that they stepped up security around the ride in the immediate aftermath, and if I'm not mistaken both of those incidents occurred pretty close together. Seems really odd that they had no problems (other than a dude losing his $25K prosthetic leg, but that has nothing to do with the "dueling" aspect) for over a decade and then two injuries close together. They just aren't going to take chances.

ETA - Yes, both injuries happened within about a month of each other. Just seems too strange to be coincidental.

I agree...All the years the coasters ran w/o incident and then all of a sudden these incidents occur.
