If anyone out there can recommend any of the downtown Disney hotels..
Just trying to help a co-worker as to where to stay.
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks

What kind of "taste" do they have? Upper end? Moderate? That will help narrow it down.

Thanks for responding: upperend to moderate...places with suites as they have 4 small children.

Just trying to see what people prefer...I never used the downtown hotels so looking for some feedback.

thanks

I recommend either the Hyatt Grand Cypress (great hotel and pool area) or the Hilton. Hyatt over Hilton in this case. Hope that helps!

I would suggest the Doubletree for them. It is an all suite hotel and the 6 of them would fit very comfortably. A "standard room" is a two room suite with 2 double beds and a pull out sofa. They also have a minifridge and microwave in each room. It is more on the moderate end, but with all the space that you get, I would gladly give up some of the luxury! Hope this helps!

That's true. But it's so close, I figured I would include it since it is better than any of the hotels that are actually "in" Downtown Disney.

I also agree checking out Travelzoo. There is almost always a DTD hotel up on that site.

We really liked the Hilton for the accommodations aswell as the location. I have not stayed at the Hyatt and can't comment on it's exact location. But I felt very much a part of Disney being so close to DTD. We could just walk over and get right into the atmosphere of the place. I have stayed at Boardwalk and would call this a next favorite location if you want to feel "right in the thick of Disney".

Now, maybe not everybody likes the DTD area as much as we do, but my three kids have a great time just visiting the shops and playing with the various toy centers. There's some great food for every price point.

The transportation from these resorts is not superior, but I would argue that it is better than some of the Disney owned resorts. Having stayed at many different spots from the All-stars to the DVC villas, we have tried a lot of the busses and found the DTD systems to be very reasonable.
