Downtown Minneapolis Embassy Suites

We are headed up for the Dairy Queen Classic Baseball Tournament at the Metrodome in March. I just made a reservation at the Downtown Minneapolis Embassy Suites - their website said it was recently renovated.

I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this hotel - we are hoping to walk to and from the Metrodome and maybe use the light rail transit system to go to Mall of America a couple of times.

Any input would be appreciated!

I just looked up the hotel and it says there are 8 blocks from the convention center and "minutes" from the Metrodome. The area where the Dome is has a LOT of traffic and the roads aren't the best. I wouldn't plan to walk that far - especially with kids.

Thanks for your help - we have teens so we are not all that worried about walking to and from - I am more concerned about the overall condition of the hotel. I have been in some recently renovated hotels that were like new, and some that looked like they had just tried to cover up some major flaws and called it good.
