Any recent visitors have any input on how the construction/remodel at DTD is going?
We have an ADR at Paradisio37 in Sept (I know 3 mths away), but my dd was talking to a client yesterday that had just come back from WDW and said that DTD was a real mess and we might want to skip it.
Just wondering if anyone else could verify.

Will you be driving to DTD or using Disney Transporation? We were there five or six weeks ago and the parking situation was awful. There is fencing up in areas so you definitely see there is construction going on but it is still enjoyable. I would keep that reservation! Plus you can check out all the new shops while you are down there! :)

We just spent the day there after our cruise on Saturday and it was a mess and very hot...
The Marketplace area is not so bad,but after you get toward Lego and the detour around by T Rex it is just HOT HOT HOT!!!! No air moves at all...I know it will be nice when it is done, but for now it is kind of a mess.:crazy2:

The new Starbucks at the Marketplace was nice! We all got Fraps to cool off.:thumbsup2

Then we went to the Poly and had dinner at Ohana and that is a mess too..LOL
Construction everywhere!!

We got back to DTD around 11 pm and walked around a bit more and that was much cooler at night.

The margarita bar was torn down and Capt Jack's. Lots of changes for sure.

Good luck!

We'll be driving. Parking at DTD has never been the greatest anytime we have been but we prefer driving. I don't mind the construction and do want to check out some of the new shops!

Our ADR is for 7:20 so maybe we'll go a little earlier and hit a couple stores before and maybe have time to hit a couple more after dinner. Restaurant is in Pleasure Island area and there is a boat dock right there if we were staying at a resort where we could take the boat would be nice but we are not. I guess we'll keep checking closer to our dates.

The area where Paradiso 37 is is a walled up mess currently. The whole area is blocked off with scrims, and I believe the path was rerouted with areas blocked off. EasyWDW posted some aerial photos of the area to give you a better idea. Granted, this could very well change in 3 months.

Just got back. It is a mess and more walls went up around Lego store while we were there.
We choose to walk from Pleasure Island to West side down by the water, it is still a pleasant walk.
The parking lot is a mess and could be difficult to park in.

We were there last week and DTD itself isn't horrible. Yes, there are walls up all over but it is as unobtrusive as possible. Parking, however, is a nightmare! Highly advise NOT driving if there is ANY other option available.

Mmmm, guess I'll give it about 6 more weeks and check again. It won't hurt my feelings not to go to DTD this trip. We are getting another AP (after not having one for a couple years) so there will be other ops. Not much of a shopper but really wanted to visit one of the new stores.

Was looking forward to taking the girls to BBB there in Sept, but after reading some of the posts I don't think I want to be there :sad2:

A lot can get done in a few months so you never know. I have a dinner reservation at T-Rex 8/18 so I'm doing to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best!

If you make an appt. early in the morning you will not have problem with parking. We were their a couple of wks ago first thing in the morning and their was plenty of parking. We got one right in the front.

We were there last Thursday. Arrived a little after 6pm and had no trouble finding parking. We parked behind World of Disney. We must have lucked out. I had intended to make several passes around and just valet if I didn't see anything but immediately saw a spot. Definitely lots of construction. Walking to TREX was like going through a maze of walls. Definitely didn't stop us from going though. There are a lot of good food choices so I think it is still worth a trip,

If you're OK with walking through a maze of walls, you'll be fine! I knew there was construction but the walls made me feel like I was in a rat trap. We had dinner at Fulton's last week but stopped by Paradisio37 for a cocktail before. I was not impressed with the service at the outdoor bar.

Is there a construction schedule anywhere for Disney Spring? I'm wondering how much will be completed by mid-December when we get there?

We were there May 10-17 and stayed at SSR. We were able to walk over and so had no difficulties with the parking issue. Our DTD view was not as pretty during the day, but still lovely at night. We didn't have any other issues. Still love DTD and the easy proximity to SSR. LOVE!:cloud9:

mercydisney thanks for your sugestion, I think I will make the appt early can you tell me are the pictures from BBB the same as the MK BBB? thanks!!! :goodvibes

... Was actual Ohana OK though? Going in August for dinner.

Yes Ohana itself was fine once we were seated:goodvibes The food and service was good.

It was just a bit hectic in the waiting areas around the resort with the lobby boarded up and the beach was really a mess.

If you are set on eating at Ohana then I would do it. I just think the Poly has a different feel with all the construction going on.

Since we ate there on Sat night I think we will try something new for our Nov trip and have a more laid back dinner for our resort day.

I can not wait to see the Poly when it is all done.

I think Capt Cooks is closed too and the pool is next!!!:confused3
