I may have been able to find out my job a teeny bit early. Just wondering what the training in dtd is like. I know if you work in a park you get to tour the park on your training days. Is it the same for downtown?

Yep - there is a DTD tour as well. I can't remember what it's called, but I know that my friend is one of the facilitators. I do the MK one, and if I were to get transferred to another park or DTD I may have the opportunity to get trained in their tours.

Yeah, there is a tour called Urban Adventure. I worked at DTD during Spring 09 at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. I later did the Magic Kingdom tour, and while there were obviously much more interesting tidbits and "magic" (and rides!) the DTD was more interesting than I thought it would be. I never realized how long the area had been around. You watch a powerpoint presentation, go on a walking tour of the stores/ restaurant areas, and then get your costumes. Have fun! Do you know what your location in DTD is yet?

You do the MK one?! All the more reason I want MK then! It would be great to meet people who I've just talked to these past years (and watched their vlogs, so I can't even say put faces to names, haha).

Haha - I've actually had a handful a people who knew me from my Patterson Court tour from YouTube. It's fun to meet people from the DISboards and know my advice (along with all the other alums) is helping out future CPs!

Have fun working in DTD. I worked at World Of Disney info during my program and had a AWESOME time!!! If that for some chance is your location, do everything they have opportunities for. They give you everything you need to be successful in their building!! Have sooo much fun. Btw the busses to DTD are some of the best busses as it takes a whopping 15 minutes to get home! And when Typhoon closes about 25 minutes to get there.

Since there was mention of the bus system times does anyone know how long it takes to get to Epcot from the CP apartments? I know I saw this in another thread but I can't remember where--TIA

It really depends on where you'll be living. I live at Patterson and take the bus from Chatham Square and it usually takes 35-40 minutes to get to EPCOT.
