Hi Everyone!

I am interested in possibly staying at one of the Downtown Disney Resorts and have a few questions I am hoping someone would be so kind as to help me out with.

I noticied that some of the Downtown Disney Resorts offer shuttle bus services to the outlet malls. Was wondering if anyone had experience with these shuttle bus destinations and could tell me there experiences? As well, how far are these outlet malls from the Disney World property? I do ask because one of the days in Orlando I would like to do some outlet shopping and was wondering if the shuttle buses that go there are reliable or if it would be better to just cab it (if so, how much would this cost approximately)?

My second question has to do with grocery/food shopping. To save on costs I was thinking of going maybe once or twice for grocery shopping. Was wondering if there are any grocery stores close to the Downtown Disney Resorts and how much a cab ride would cost to get there.... or is it within walking distance? Alternatively, I was wondering if there are any grocery stores near to any of the outlets?

The outlets I am referring to are Orlando Premium Outlet Stores and Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlets.

I should note that I will not have access to a car while staying in Disney.

Hope this helps and someone is able to help me out!!! Any recommendations are welcome!

P.S. I do hope I posted this in the right message board, if not.. please more as you see fit!

Sorry, not sure about the outlets, but there is a Goodings Supermarket located just across the street from where Hotel Plaza Blvd dead ends. You could eaisly walk to the store, and if you have too many bags to carry, take a taxi back.

Hi:goodvibes
There are 7,hotels on Hotel Plaza blw,so the walk to the Goodings grocery store are an 5-10min walk for the nearest hotel (Best western & Doublethree ), and an 25,min walk from Hilton.
---------------
I know that Best Western runs a free shuttle to the Premium Outlet, and this are usually an twice a day event.
The LBV Factory Outlet are literally across the street, but there no way to cross this street,so you need to pay an 12$ roundtrip fare to the hotels town car (if they have),or an 6 $ ,one way cab fare.
The Factory Outlet are WAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY better, but i guess it depends a little on what you want.:thumbsup2
--------------
There are also a bus-stop outside the doublethree, that takes you to Florida Mall, and this bus stops outside Best Western on the return. The trip are about 20,min. Costs 3$.
------------------------
Have an Magical Trip

I seem to recall it being the Premium Outlets that are just over the I4 near DTD and The Lake Buena Vista Factory stors which are further away and have the free shuttles ?
As has already been mentioned, if you cross over at the bottom of Hotel Plaza Boulevard The Crossroads shopping complex has a Goodings supermarket in it. If you cross over then turn left at The Crossroads and keep going over Palm Parkway, past Sheraton Safari and past Cypress Point you will arrive at a Winn Dixie. It's a longer walk but less expensive and with a better selection. There is also a Walgreens nearby.
