Downtown Disney - My Little Ponies

We have done this twice, my girls love it! Some stuffing advice, lay the bed across the bottom so it's like a bowl, you can then stuff the little blankets etc. under on the sides. If you are getting a pony or ponies, dress them and I mean with everything. Just layer on all of the outfits that will fit. You get more in the box this way. You can also fit two ponies in if you put them in hooves facing each other. Then stuff all the extra stuff in, under and around them.

I collected what I wanted and then would find a corner and sit on the floor and stuff to get it all in the best way possible.

I wound up stuffing a few other peoples boxes that day. It was fun, we were all there with our piles. The kids thought it was funny, theirs and mine.

Oh, and I'm sure it's been mentioned on the DIS before but if you are doing the Mr. Potato head make sure to fill him not just stuff the things in the box. A wonderful CM sent me from the counter to go fill mine our first time doing one of these boxes.

OMG! Thanks for all the info! I have a new niece that is coming in September, so during our August trip I'm doing a Mr. Potato Head box for her and a My Little Pony box for her. Won't be able to give them to her til she's bigger but that stuff never goes out of style for kids! Plus who knows when our next trip to WDW will be!!!

We just got back this week and we went to the bigger MLP in the Once Upon A Toy shop. It was great. We filled out box of stuff and thought that's all I can get. Went up to the register and the lady said, Awww that's not enough and had my daughter get 3 ponies in there. So we got all the outfits, about 7 or 8 and the bed, combs and barrettes and 3 ponies. I was amazed. Digging through for all the outfit accessories was a bit of a pain but it was worth it. She loves all her new stuff and is still playing with it at home. Best advice is to go to the one a the toy store rather than toontown. It's got a whole lot more!!!

I just heard about this - and we will be there in 10 days. :)

I was googling to find out more information - and google pulled up this thread.

For the $18 you can stuff a pony & accessories in the box?

Wow! Thanks! We have done the Potato Head thing before & my kids are looking forward to it but my DD will go bananas over the MLPs! I was skimming the board, anyone who has been there recently - is the one at DTD still better then the one in Mickey's Toontown? I am not sure if we will get to DTD....
Thanks!

There is one in Toontown? Where abouts? Someone had told me about the one in DTD and I was going to try to make a special trip just for my DDs to do this - but if there is one in MK, that may be easier.

I'm so excited that it is still there! We went in March and couldn't find it, I must have missed it. I'll be on the lookout in March 2010 for it!

Does anyone know if they still have the stuff your own jewelry box? We have done the potato head and the ponies (and probably will again ;)) but something new would be fun too.

I just found out about the MLP at DTD on this forum :surfweb: a few days ago and DD(4) has decided that she and her baby sis will get the MLP instead of the Mr Potato head that she & big bro were going to get. :cheer2:

If you go to the Judge's Tent in Toontown where the character greetings are for the Princesses and Pixie Hollow, you will see a large gift shop with the Pony and Potato Head display. You have to walk right by it to get to the line up for the character meet and greets! Have fun shopping!

I collect MLP and since I doubt I will ever make it to the BAP, I just ordered a bunch of the items off ebay.

The ponies I already had, the outfits is what I ended up with on ebay. I tried to put them together the way they are supposed to go. I may have messed up a bit though. I love the outfits! I keep them on my ponies that I have a pony army of - Pinkie Pie!!

We did this at DTD and it was a lot of fun. My DH was able to put 2 ponies, 1 bed and every accessory and then some in there. I believe we put accessories in the bed and then 1 pony, then the other pony and all the outfits and such. Packing the box was half the fun! Good luck :) Oh word of caution remember to get 4 shoes!! For some reason I was thinking 2 shoes instead of 4 so some of our ponies have mis-matched shoes :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sooo excited!! We will be there in Jan. My daughter loves ponies and this will be such a thrill for her.

What about for older boys? What is the light saber thing? We are out of the Potatohead stage.

make sure you sift through all of the clothing items! often i'd get most of the outfit and then ds - who was helping me as dd was makign a potty trip- would dig and grab a pony shoe! so then of course i'd have to dig for three more- and make sure they matched! lol someone we have one sad little blue one..... or snow white has little arm puffs for her dress, jasmine the aladdins lamp, ariel has a sand castle and a seashell purse/necklace? oh and theres hair ribbons and combs....

it was either 18.95 or 19.95 on october 3rd when we went to dtd. aside from us we had no help, but i cramed all the clothing and a bed and several blankets in there. next trip im aiming to get a pony in there! lol

My daughter loved doing this! We managed to get a bed, pony, clothes and so many other things into the box. It was around $18 and well worth it because she plays with it all the time. I do suggest to get a pony at Once Upon a Toy because some of the items only fit the Disney ponies.

My girls have no MLP....I have no clue why. I loved them. So I am goingot buy them each a pony for the ride to play with...then they will be that much more excited to see it when we go.....

The My Little Pony station in Once Upon a Toy is so cute and a lot of fun. My DD loved this and for about $18 it was not a bad deal.

For those of you who are thinking about bringing a pony from home, that is fine but also go ahead and get the disney pony because some of the shoes and other items seem to only fit the disney pony. The clothes however fit all My Little Ponies.

I just found this thread through googling the MLP at DTD. My 4 yr old princess is so excited to do this in September! She loves the pictures! I hope I can fill the box to the brim. I was wondering if all the pieces to one outfit are clustered together, so we don't miss any one piece. We need the full outfits! :)
I wanted to bump this thread up, it's too great for it to be archived. :goodvibes
