Downtown Disney:Leave it or Change it??

Would you change/bring anything back/leave it the way it is to DTD??

  • It's just perfect the way it is

  • They need to bring back the West Side/Adventure Club

  • I would tweak a couple of things..but otherwise its fine the way it is

  • I would completely do it all over again

  • I would gear it towards adults at night

  • I would make it a 24hr place to visit..but leave it the way it is

Some friends/family and I were talkin about this one time and we had a few ideas that they could do/add to it and some of us says its fine just the way it is.

Soo..I'm gonna post a poll up and I would love to hear some of the things/ideas you have!!

Personally..I think they need to bring back the adult side (West side??) of it and the Adventure's Club!! I've never been to either but from the posts and emotions I've seen on here..that's one thing I would bring back.

I also would add in a car shop!! This would be set up loike Radiator Springs or something like that and you could buy decals..license plates..floor mats..sterring wheel covers..cup holders..all of that!!! (My ex came up with this idea..but he would never go thru with it..so I'm takin it!! LMAO!!!:lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: Naw..I'll give credit where credit is due...)

Are there more adult things to do in DTD and I don't know about it?? Let me hear you answers..suggestions..ideas!!!

I spend a couple nights in Downtown Disney each trip, and I have a good time separating off from the wives and kids to go have some "adult time" with my brothers in law.

We enjoy listening to the music and drinking some beers outside of House of Blues. From there, it's off to cocktails at Paradiso 37, cigars at Sosa's and whiskey and black and tans at Raglan Road.

We generally have a real good time, and find plenty to keep us busy while the wives and kids are off shopping.

As many times as I've been down there..I haven't been to these places..but I'll keep them in mind!!!:thumbsup2

OT:Does anyone know how to edit a poll?? I meant to add the option of where you could pick as many as you want and take off the see who voted option too. I clicked too fast and it posted!! UGH!! LMAO!! If I can't change it..then just say if you have more than one option or maybe even one that I didn't put up!!:woohoo:

Thanks everyone

I remember when we were little at Disney, and our parents would leave us in the room (scandalous), and go to Pleasure Island at night. I always thought if it as a HUGE deal, and had a good time imagining what Pleasure Island might be like.

So, yeah, IMHO, they should make something fun for adults to do at night, so I can leave my (as of now unborn) children in the room, wondering about the fun things there.

:lmao::goodvibes I LOOVE THIS!! That's cute!!!

I never got a chance to experience the Adventure's Club or the West Side before they got rid of them. The year I wanted to try them out was the year they were takin them out. And our vacay wasn't until after they would be gone!! :guilty: Sooo..I missed out..but I really do love DTD!! It's my second favorite "park"!!:cloud9:

I loved Pleasure Island, especially celebrating the midnight count down. My DH and I would check out each of the clubs, we loved the comedy club and I loved dancing. I guess that City Walk at Universal took over the nightlife at PL.

I guess like everything else they put in Named restaurants to attract people.

I have been to DTD twice and was not impressd.
Too close to an outdoor shopping mall.

I think they need to bring back some adult things for the evenings.

We loved PI when it was a gated attraction rather than the individual clubs. It was nice that way. We enjoyed Comedy Warehouse and Adventurer's Club as well as just wandering along watching people. Had a PI annual pass for many years.

We went to the New Years Eve party 2003/2004 and had soooooo much fun. We got to hear Blondie and Sugar Hill Gang. It was soooo much fun. I really miss the Adventurer's Club; it was so unique. We want it back so go on over to Japan or wherever you took it and BRING IT BACK.... pirate:

Doesn't every thread of this type end up being the same? I remember how good ______ was in the past, and can't understand why they shut it down.

While I'm sure the memories are there, almost every closed attraction seems to gain legendary status points for every year it's been closed. I'm sure there were very valid reasons for your favourite part of DTD closing, be it security, losing money, or a myriad of other factors.

Disney is an ever changing entity. Remember the past fondly, but also remember you're probably seeing it through rose coloured glasses.
