Downtown Disney from the Boardwalk

Hi,

I will be heading down in two weeks and we plan on taking either one or two trips to Downtown Disney. I will have access to a rental car as well. With all of the construction going on what would be the best way to go? I really would prefer to drive over taking the bus. Doable these days? Where should I park? Also we were planning on doing lunch at Port Orleans before, taking the river boat an option at this point?

If you are going to be at PO already then I would just take the boat to DTD. The parking isn't to good there right now.

Parking in the afternoon isn't really that bad. I would avoid driving in the evening, though!

Thank you, I would be going in the relatively early afternoon both times so maybe driving works. First trip is for TRex ADR at 12:30. The second one is because my son wants to go to DisneyQuest (never been) and I have dinner ADR at Epcot with some FP+ already booked so I need to get back pretty early.
