On the last night of our trip we would like to have dinner in downtown Disney. We will be having character dinners the two nights prior to that. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best restaurants in DTD? They also need to be somewhat kid friendly as we will have DS(8) and DD(5) with us. I have heard lots of good things about HOB and RR. We like lots of different kinds of food but we are not super extravagant when it comes to trying crazy dishes.

Thanks for any input you can provide!!

I have only eaten at Wolfgang Puck and Raglan Road.
Wolfgang Puck is one of our not to be missed and we won't eat at Raglan Road again. They do have pizza's at Wolfgang Puck too.

We've eaten at Rainforest Cafe here in Minneapolis, so I don't really feel like using a Disney meal for that, but if you've never been there, the kids might enjoy that also.

Another vote for Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. The food is great and its a loud restaurant, so its kid friendly:thumbsup2

Thank you for the information. We have eaten at RFC before and we were not real impressed with the food and frankly the kids weren't that thrilled with it either. Wolfgang Puck sounds good, we may have to try that. Is it hard to get into and can I make an ADR by calling the main Disney number??? I will wait and see if others have ideas as well.

Thanks again!

We really enjoyed Portabella Yacht Club, it is an Italian style restaurant. My DDs 6 and 3 loved it too, they especially loved the make your own sundaes. We happened to stumple upon this because one night we went to DTD thinking we could go to RFC, and since they don't take ressies anymore, the wait was over 2 hours long :scared1:. So I decided to call Disney dining and the only place opened that had seating was PYC. We were so impressed with that we went back there on our last night. This will be one restaurant that we will always return to. FYI, while talking to the manager about how wonderful our waiter was, he had mentioned that this restaurant is also owned by Wolfgang Pucks :rolleyes1.

I'll second Portobello Yacht Club. Very good food and service is usually good as well.

Raglan Road! :thumbsup2 We just ate there last month-twice in fact! Food, service and atmosphere all get a :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 During our earlier ADR (5ish) "The Balloon Guy" went around to each table. We chatted with him for quite some time and he then made my son the coolest balloon "animal"-Mickey Mouse on a motorcycle! He also made my DH and me little gifts, too. Just wanted to mention it was not "tacky" in the least. And RR has a wonderful kid's menu!

HOB is awesome! We also love WPE next to the Xmas shop.

Planet Hollywood gets super loud and Rainforest gets super busy with long waits. The food is good at both places, similar to Chilis, Fridays, Applebees sort of thing

I like PYC and RR. We love Bongo's and it's very lively. If you want casual dining, then I would recommend HOB. My kids love it there.

Rainforest Cafe is a must for us at DTD, and we have one just 45 minutes from where we live. The food is pretty good. Never had any complaints. Planet Hollywood is OK. If you have a good waiter/waitress, it's worth it I suppose.

I kind of like a CS food at DTT, so Wolfgang Puck Express then Icecream at Ghiradelli are my choice...
