Downton Abbey

Too many quasi-spoilers! :scared1: :faint:

Yes! I almost don't want to visit this thread until I've watched the whole season. I love coming on here to discuss the episodes that have aired, but still want to be surprised for what else the season has in store!

Yes please can we keep this spoiler free or start a new thread?

As far as this season I did think Lord Gillingham was kind of sexy when he opened that hotel room door in his shirtsleeves. I am warming up to him a bit. BUT don't think he can compare to Matthew - he and Mary had more chemistry - remember their first kiss - sigh.

ps loved the Mrs. Bennett reference.

You, yes, you that person or persons that have already seen the show in it's entirety- could you refrain from posting until the whole thing is done? I don't want spoilers. I hate spoilers. You've already spoiled some of it for me with your cryptic little postings. Ugh.

I'm a little leery of popping back on this thread, because I'm not sure if there are going to be spoilers (or spoiler-"hints") posted.
Will this thread be spoiler-free?

.

I was really hoping she'd choose Charles Blake. Gillingham was just too pushy.

I wondered after this past episode if Blake might turn his attentions toward Rose? He seemed kind if amused by her and went to bed right after she did.

Same here. If I want to know what happens before I watch it, I'm pretty sure google will help me out. I just want to read what other people thought about the episodes and if they picked up on things I overlooked.

Me too. :goodvibes

(This post contains information up to and including episode 5,3 - currently the last aired on the American PBS schedule.)

Loved last night's episode - "Away with your impertinent conclusions!" is my new favorite Dowager Countess quote.

I do think Mary belongs with Charles over Tony, but will she admit it now that things are serious? (I know deciding was kind of the idea, but I think she really expected the trip to confirm her choice, not throw it into question.) And I'm really afraid Anna's help with "things" is going to cause some sort of problem for her.

I feel awful for Edith, but what could the farmer's wife really be expected to think without knowing the truth? And somehow I keep worrying about their other kids, and how they must feel about the whole thing.

And though I love what Miss Bunting is doing for Daisy, how on Earth did she think it was appropriate to talk about the revolution with the refugees? I'm sadly leaning more toward Lord Grantham's opinion of her than I thought I would.

Anyone think violet will see her Russian admirer again?

I agree about Edith and the other children. Since the first scene in their kitchen I thought it would make more sense if she at least TRIED to fawn over the other children a bit and not just Marigold.

It may sound kind of icky, but am I the only one who ever sees the interactions between Mary and Tom and wonders what if? They have so much in common with trying to keep the estate, deceased loves of their lives. I suppose they really are more like brother and sister tho.

I also think Miss BUnting is starting to become too abrasive.

Absolutely, the Dowager will see her
admirer again. I think it is the beginning of a new story line.

I would also like Tom and Mary together. I don't like the teacher at all!
