Downton Abbey

I just finished watching episode 2. I'm feeling so sad for Anna. I was hoping that Bates would go downstairs to check on her, but unfortunately he didn't. I understand her reason for not telling him what happened, but I hope that she does in time - she needs his support.

On a side note: I absolutely love Anna and Bates. They are so great together.

So glad she called her bluff.

I'm thinking Anna is going to end up being pregnant - she may throw herself down the stairs if that happens.

There were a few men accompanying the ladies to the club - why did the singer have to intervene? I figured that was going to be a bigger scene, because of the time, the color of his skin, and his profession.

I was hoping that Anna would confide in Mary. Poor Mr. Bates!

Does anyone think that maybe Mary and Tom may end up together? Or do the have a brother/sister relationship? Did Cora make reference to it or was she talking about Tom and Rose?

I think they were trying to match Tom with Rose.

I'm glad that wicked Edna is gone but I wonder if we've seen the last of her!!! Lady Edith has really come into her own this season hasn't she??

Speaking of Lady Edith, is anyone else suspicious about what she actually signed? She looked at it awfully quickly.
I hadn't given it much though but then her lecture at the end made me think maybe things are going to turn real sour for her soon.

Ooooo I didn't think of that! Oh my!!

:thumbsup2 I thought the same thing. Looks fishy to me. I feel so bad for Lady Edith, I hope he's not pretending to care about her. I was suspicious when he settled the tabs at the gambling table and this made me even more questioning.

Anyone else wondering why Lady (Aunt) Roseland was not invited to the grand house party?

I was actually thinking WW2 is going to enter the story line and that there will be an issue with moving to Germany.

Good riddance to Braithwaite!

I hate to say it, but I'm starting to like Thomas this season. And Daisy - I love her. What's happened with her visits to William's father's farm? (Mr. Mason's farm?) I loved seeing how they interacted - loved their relationship - heck - she needed it! I like that Mrs. Patmore's really looking after her and being a good friend to her.

Mrs. Hughes is awesome - She's a good friend to both Tom and Carson.

Lady Edith - I thought the same thing - she signed that awfully quickly so they could get it on - ha ha!

Mary - I love the relationship that's blossoming between her and Tom, although I think it's brother/sister. I like their exchange at the very end between them just before they drove off.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

One last thing.... Before, we were talking about how the cast looks off screen... I hardly recognized these 2!

My guess is he's up to his eye balls in debt and she just agreed to pay it

I'm guessing he had her sign some pro-German pledge or something (since he is getting his German citizenship so he can get a divorce) and it will bite her in the butt later on- Hitler's rise and all that...

I think they were trying to match Tom with Rose.

For me, Mary and Tom will have a friendship that is not usual for a BIL and SIL to have, mainly because they both lost the loves of their lives and have children close in age...but I don't seem them as a couple. Mary is SO the opposite of Sybil...and Matthew and Tom are not alike at all. I think they will have a great partnership with running the estate and relateing to how much they miss their debarteds

As for Rose and Tom,,,:sad2::sad2: Again Tom loved Sybil....Sybil was sweet and kind...Rose is selfish and spoiled! No match there!
