Downpours, DIS meets, and the Dining Plan - Our Week at WDW May 16-23 Final Thoughts

I just love pictures where the kids are wearing those bugs life glasses, I love how mine came out of the girls too.

And how cute is Meeko? I wish we would have saw him. Adorable, and I love when the characters play and with the kids, it's so funny!!

The musical was much better than I expected but in my opinion not as good as the Lion King. I like the full size characters better than the puppets. The puppet thing was neat though. Thanks about the pics. Lindsey is going to need braces too. We had a lot of work done last year. She had to go to the hospital (for anesthesia) to have spacers and sealants applied. I think the spacers helped the new teeth come in straight. She didn't have enough room for her adult teeth prior to that. I'm still fighting with the billing at the dentists office though from that visit. They billed an office visit ($45) and a hospital visit ($330) on the same bill to insurance. Of course insurance paid the $45 and rejected the $330 because you can't bill for two "visits" on the same bill. Now the dentists office wants me to pay the $330. Not happening. They need to straighten the billing out. I checked with insurance 3 times now and they just need to pay back the $45 and rebill for the $330. Not a big deal but I can't get the dentists office to go back and fix it. I shouldn't be responsible for the $330 for their billing error - IMO. Until it gets straightened out we won't be going back. You'd think after we've spent 2k in there that they'd try to fix the problem but apparently we're small potatoes. :confused3
I hate that he does such great work and I can't see him because the billing clerk is being a pain. Anyway sorry for the long story...you probably didn't care to hear all that.

Well I think her teeth look great :teeth:. Too bad the billing clerk is being a pain. I would be mad too with the amount you spend there and then they try to collect on the same appt twice. You think they would have the sense to submit the $330 to the insurance company separately from the $45 office visit :headache:. I totally understand why you would be frustrated. Anyway I was sad we missed nemo again this time. We love LK though so next trip well see both of them. I would love to go back for fall break in October :guilty: but next May would be okay too. I loved the F&G at Epcot.

I just found your report and I have read it all. Your girls are so cute. Josie sleeping in the stroller is adorable. It's amazing the ways children can sleep. I really liked the Nemo show too, and I love EE.

Sorry to hear about your dog.

Great update! We saw the Nemo Musical for the first time this trip too! The line is always so long that we never wanted to wait before. This time I booked Tusker House for lunch so we could get priority seating and it was well worth it! We thought the musical was great. Emily really got into it!

We have never seen Nemo. I wanted to see it this year, but......... I am trying not to make too many plans for the September trip because I don't want to be disappointed. I think we are going to try they laid back approach, she says while looking at restaurants..........:lmao:.

Thanks Pam! We've been lucky and seen Meeko the last two trips. Last year we saw him at DHS though. I'm sure you will meet him next year! :goodvibes

Thanks Nichole! We didn't get to see LK this year. Too much to do, too much rain, so little time. I think we've decided on May again since school is out the week of the 19th and the week before Memorial day is the 22nd-29th next year. Maybe we'll see ya there again!

Thanks for reading! :welcome: There are more sleeping pics coming. It's amazing how they don't wake up cranky from being sore. I remember feeling like nothing could hurt me....that was a LOOOOOOONG time ago.

Hi Wendy! How are ya feelin'? We were at the beginning of the line but waited forever for the show to start. Might have to try priority seating next time. Thanks for the tip! :goodvibes

Since you've already been maybe you could just make a mini list of things you've been meaning to do and don't get to and maybe try one new thing a day or something. Hopefully you will have beautiful weather in September so you can have a really nice laid back and fun vacation.

Love your TR can't wait to read more....We didn't go to Bug's LIfe...I forgot...i forgot a lot on this trip.. :) haha popcorn::

That is a good idea Leanne. I may just have to let Dale go off on his own and Dallas and I do our thing. I wish I could talk Tyler into going with us. I know Amanda can't go because she will be starting her senior year of college but it would be nice if Tyler went and then Dale would have someone to run around with.

Thanks for joining in! :welcome: I forgot more than usual too. I think the rain made my brain into mush.

It would be good if you could talk Tyler into it. It's no fun being the third wheel. Are you taking Mr. Niko this time?

Let's try this again...so we were heading to EPCOT. It didn't take too long to board a bus and get to EPCOT. On the way, we decided that we would run to Soarin' for fast passes and then beat feet to the DIS meet. We got to the Dis meet about 15minutes late. We did see Dana (racefan88) and Mary (MaryAZ) right away. We chatted for a few minutes and then a CM came over and said someone very special was lonely. We looked over and Aurora was standing to the side without a single person to see her. Of course the girls wanted to see her so we grabbed our books and headed to meet her.

We went back over to where the group was mingling to chat a little more. The kids were so cute. They were trading pins and having a big time.

Soon a photopass photographer showed up and snapped a few pics of the group. He then told us they had a surprise and Princess Aurora joined the group. She sat on the ground with the children. It was so nice! Unfortunately I don't have any photopass photos but Joe did take this for me:

Here's Lindsey in the sea of lime green.:goodvibes

So everyone chatted a little longer. I took this opportunity to shake hands with Lessa (Lifelong_Dreamer) and Rosie (englishrose47). They were both very nice and it was great to meet them.

After things started to break up we headed to R&C for some adult beverages. Joe had been waiting for this part all afternoon. I promised him a beer. Mary's DH bought Joe a beer for his birthday. That one didn't last too long so Joe bought he and Jeff another. I guess we didn't realize that the rest of the group was going inside of R&C. We were outside on the patio. We did have a great view of the lake. We saw them preparing for Illuminations. We took these:

So after a few beers we parted ways so that we could both catch an attraction and then make it to our 5:45 ressies. We headed to Mission Space. While getting in line we ran into Dana and her family again so we chatted during the queue. It was a great way to pass the time. When Lindsey and I got done we met Joe in the kiddie play area. Josie was having a large time climbing through the tubes. She was having so much fun I told Joe to go ahead and ride it and I would watch Josie play. This was our first time on this ride. The green version was no big deal so now my interest is peaked for the orange version.

Well after everyone rode, we needed to head to Canada for our dinner ressie at Le Cellier. If you read my PTR you know that I bought Joe and Lindsey the Seas Aqua Tour and had ordered a surprise cake for our dinner at Le Cellier.

So we got to Le Cellier and only waited about 5 minutes to be seated. While Joe was fiddling with the stroller I spoke with the CM at the podium about our cake. She assured me they would take everything. Well after seconds of pretzel bread, and the devouring of our entrees, the waitress came by and asked for our dessert orders. At that point I realized she had no idea about the cake. I just whispered to her (Joe thought I was asking them to sing Happy Birthday...lol) and after a few minutes she brought this out with about 10 candles lit.

We then gave Joe his card and that's when he found out about his tour. He really liked the special treatment. We had the waitress to box up the cake and we went ahead with the dessert orders we had already placed. This turned out to be a mistake.

Joe had the filet and I had the New York strip. Mine was good and Joe liked his also. The only thing about Le Cellier is that I always feel like I don't get enough food. :confused3 The portions are so small there. Seems like they could step it up just a little.

Anyway we had a very nice meal and the birthday boy was very happy. We headed over to Soarin' and there was just enough time for Joe and Lindsey to ride before Future World closed. They loved it as usual. After the ride is was raining a bit so we went back to the room. It was so beautiful that morning that I didn't pack the ponchos. :scared1:

After we arrived to the room we decided to have some of Joe's birthday cake. Gotta have cake on your birthday! As soon as we sliced into I got a little upset. I had ordered chocolate cake - got white. I had ordered white chocolate buttercream and got standard buttercream. Joe is a chocolate fanatic so I was very disappointed but at that point there wasn't anything I could do. It tasted okay but I can do better. Maybe that's why I was tough on this cake...I know how much I paid and how much went into it and there was much to be desired. Joe didn't mind and told me not to worry about it and guess that's what really matters.

I know now that we will go back to Publix for b-day cakes. The cake last year was phenomenal in comparison and was $30 cheaper...

Up next: Day 3 MK/BBB/CRT

Awww, I'm sorry that the cake was not what you ordered. For the amount that they charge they really should get it right!

The DIS meet looked like a lot of fun! That's cool that Aurora hung out for the meet and took her picture with the gang!

Bummer the cake wasn't what you ordered, but I'm glad Joe enjoyed it and his birthday present!

Can't wait to find out what's next!

The cake is pretty but had they not prepared as I asked they would have refunded me the money! Did you ever call them or say anything? So many times I read TR's where people ordered cakes and they get the wrong thing. Think about these poor kids who are allergic to something and they get the wrong cake!

Love the pics with super tanned Aurora. The girls tops are so cute. Those were from that Gap line right? I thought of the Animal Kingdom when they came out with that line.

Are you in an 805 area code? DD just missed a call....she's next door at Gma's and Papa's. If it was your DD I'll have her call back. :goodvibes

just caught up on new post!!

I can't wait to share "Mommy we gotta eat!" with Gwendolyn
she always call to ask "what is for food?!"

love the updates and Josie sleeping toooo cute...
ya'll did a great job catching the characters great shots
looks like ya'll had a great day!!!

sorry to hear about the cake! I always rather the cakes from the store bakeries , usually;(the people that work their are usually regular people who learned cake decorating and baking at home and home classes usually--usually mom style taste w/talented decorating and with computer printing now hard to go wrong--if you don't want anything too fancy and looking for great taste)

More on the way...Day 3 was a big day for the girls. ;)

I should have called but didn't. I guess I should give them some feedback since they got it all wrong. I'm waiting to see if I get a survey request. I usually get one but haven't seen one this year. :confused3

We are in 270 area code so not Linds. I told her she could try to call this weekend and that we would reply to Gabby tonight. I told her she couldn't send a note without Joe or I proofreading it. I just want to monitor her as she gets started emailing.

Yep I was a little disappointed since they had all of 30 minutes and $8 in the cake. I can't wait to hear what Gwendolyn has to say..:rotfl: I will try to get caught up on your report tonight. This week has been :scared1: Thanks for stopping by. :goodvibes

Awesome update!!! Love the group picture from the Mammoth May Meet!
Oh my goodness! Hi Alan! So glad you stopped over!! Thanks so much - since you organized the meet I feel like I have a celebrity reading my report. :goodvibes

I hate that the cake didn't come out right. I was so worried about the cake I ordered Dallas. Thank goodness it turned out OK. I know how disappointing it is for the cake to come out wrong. It was really pretty though. I think when we go in September I will be going to Publix and getting a cake too.

I really enjoyed meeting you, Joe and the girls at the Dis meet and riding Mission Space with you and Lindsey.

Great update BTW and I can't wait for more :surfweb:.

Great update! Sorry the cake wasn't what you ordered :sad2: It is very cute though. Love the girls pics with Aurora.

It was really nice you meeting you and your family also. You have a really nice family Dana! I wish we could have met up another time before you guys had to go. :sad2:

The cake was a disappointment for me. I know better for next time though and I'm not dwelling. Joe was happy and that' the most important part.

Yeah, it was a bummer. I liked the design of it but the taste was not so good. The picture on top was bland and kind of chewy which is something you don't expect from a cake (even fondant isn't chewy like that was). Thanks about the girls. Wish we had weather like that day the rest of the trip. :confused3
