DoubleTree Suites LBV or Embassy Suites LBV

Using Hilton HHonors points, so choices somewhat limited. We are a family of 4 with an almost 3yr old and 5 yr old. We have stayed at the Embassy Suites before and it was OK. Really want to stay with a 2 room suite (love this idea with the kids) and like the included hot breakfast with Embassy, but DoubleTree is also running a deal to include breakfast. I will prob. have to purchase an extra night or 2 with the DoubleTree. It seems a little nicer than the Embassy though. We will spend most of our time at the parks, so not even considering pool, etc.
Has anyone stayed at these resorts that can offer thoughts? Thanks.

Are you talking about the Doubletree on Hotel Plaza? The bus service from the DTD hotels is much better then bus service offered by offsite hotels. Not an issue if you're going to drive to the parks.

yes, it is in Hotel Plaza. Buses probably not an issue. I have an AP, so won't have to pay for parking at parks anyway and might want the flexibility of having my own vehicle with kids, stroller, etc. anyway.

Take a look at the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista South. Only a year old and beautiful. A great value for the points!

Have stayed at both those and EB Lake Buena Vista South this past May for 9 nights. Returning for a night this week. Here are some pluses for the LBV South aside from new and really nice -

1) We compared with others and the points were less so you might have less OOP.
2) No parking or resort fees.
3) With all the construction around DTD apparently traffic is bad and you have to add time on to traveling to parks.
4) LBV South is only a couple miles out of DTD but you make a turn on to World Center Drive and go straight to the parks avoiding DTD.

Here's another vote for the Embassy Suites LBV South! We stayed there in July with our 4 kids and it was great. It was extremely clean, breakfast was good (although mostly the same each morning), the cocktail reception in the evening was a great perk, and thought the customer service was great.
